I Wonder if the Jazz F/O Regret This

I also wasn't a fan of MCW, but wow. And Trey Burke's summer league play had a lot of us feeling buyers remorse. I felt it even on draft night - because they traded BOTH picks for Trey. Meh. They redeemed themselves when the bought the Gobert pick. I loved getting Gobert. But at PG I wanted Shroeder. Still do. Dunno how he's doing though.

Not to be antagonistic, but people act like we were so smart for buying the Gobert pick, and then making the trade for neto, but the truth is both were unnecessary, We could have snagged Schroeder at 14, Gobert at 21, and Neto at 46 (we chose Green so we could trade him to aid Gobert pick). In other words, if We didn't move up for Burke, we'd still have Gobert, Neto and schroeder, as well as a second rd pick and some cash.

I'm optimistic about Burke. Purpose of the thread is just to point out that MCW has potential, wether he ceases it consistently is another question.

I hope Burke absorbs all that he can while on the sidelines, and comes back with that chip on his shoulder, and a controlled/poised need to prove himself.

Did you know that the 76ers had the best regular season start in the first 5 minutes of the game against the defending champs with 19-0 run, until the Heat could score their first points?

Not worried. Burke > Michael Chucker Williams

Chucker? He had 12 ast, hardly a chucker. He only had 10 Fga's in that game as well. If you're going to diss him, fine, but at least be accurate. If anything, MCW is a pass-first (true) point. He shot a lot in SL because they asked him to so he could fix his shot. When he comes into his own, he'll be that pass-first pg who you have to respect (not like tinsley), because hhe's also capable of scoring. That game was a glimpse of what his finished product could be like (obviously toned down though).

Watching MCW owned by Wall. Yeah, I bet Lindsey and KOC are biting elbows right now.

Makes sense. MCW has never really had to guard an individual player, and Mario Chalmers isn't the kind of PG who is going to drive and give a guy fits. John Wall is. MCW still had a really good first game though, people just completely overreacted to it.

MCW's stats from tonight were more along the lines of what I was expecting from him this season.

Well, so 76ers won again... could the 76ers drafting MCW be a blessing in disguise for us as they could miss out on Wiggins in '14????

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we do not rush Burke's return.

I would be curious to see what the Jazz brass say about this kind of stuff.

Is it just awkward silence when MCW is brought up?

Interesting.

You guys spoke tooo soon...again. He still had 15 pts and 4 ast against Wizards, and they won. Last night, against Bulls, MCW had 26 pts and 10 ast, 3 stl, and 4 reb, shooting
.455% fg, and .40% 3fg, and .80ft%.

His stats for the season are:
.468%fg, .471% 3fg, 4.7 reb, 9'0 ast, 4.3 stl, and 20.7 pts, w/ only 2.3 t/o (which is great considering his useage rate and how he's a rook). Gis PER so far is 29.15!!!

Oh, and his tea, is 3-0, when really they should be 0-3

i actually saw the miami at phi game live

to be honest with all of you, i see a team who plays some inspiring basketball and an opposing team who underestimate them

that will not last for long

as for mcw, he's not that good as his stats are and i doubt he's better than burke

I laugh at this whole thing as Bruke has not had his chance to shine. How an we regret anything when there is nothing to compare yet.

Please refer to post #61 of this thread (which I quoted above for your conveniance).

The only thing I think MCW has on Burke is his height and length, which will allow him to finish better, defend, and see the floor better. But time will tell. I've been very impressed by how professional Burke is and his attitude. He's always going to work harder to prove people wrong. Nothing's been given to him.

You said "the only thing," but"finish better," "defend," amd "see the floor better" is three things. Three very important things.

Well true, I probably should have added things Burke will be better at or the same as MCW. Guess I just sub grouped those into the Height factor.

New rule...hindsight posts should be banned. So lame. Although revisionist history books are cool, let's keep it in books.
