What's new

GameTHREAD: Wed - Nov. 20th – 6pm ROOT --- JAZZ@ Pelicans

Green ranting about Corbin only shows how ridiculous people have gotten complaining about Corbin. The coach does not get to decide if a player is medically cleared to play. Unless Burke comes out and says the doctor said I could play as much as the coach wants. Then you can complain about it for now, the ranting is just ridiculous.

I am more upset that Gobert has lost minutes to Harris. Now that Evans is back Gobert and Evans should be the first off the bench.

Nice arguement but do you know if the coaches limited Burke 12 minutes instead of 14? Pure specualtion on your part.

Kanter looked good except on D. Shudder
Favors was OK
Burks..smd
Burke played very well and I loved it. I want to see more of that before I start proclaiming anything though.
Hayward had a horrible shootingnight. Just horrible...BUT he did good everywhere else. Assists, blocks, rebounds, D...
Gobert got another DNP...
Evans looked good in his return. He is what he is though. A high energy guy that is good in late rotation for 10 minutes a night.

Here's the bottom line... Our best offensive player, Hayward, is ideally a 3rd or 4th option player. He's not as horrible as many of you are making him out to be. But he's a role player, nothing more nothing less.

It's like making Bruss, Shandon Anderson, or Matt Harpring our #1 option. No wonder why our offense sucks.

I do not think that Hayward is our best offensiv player, he is just chucking most of the scoring positions in the game. Right know Kanter could average like 30 points per game, shooting 39 % from the field, but I do not think that this is what we want to see from a player. I said it many times before, that in this team Kanter has to be the Number 1 option on offense and Favors should get as much involved as Hayward in offensiv sets. Yes, Hayward is a role player and he has to accept being 2nd or even 3rd option on the team.

This is the first time I've heard this term used in regard to a broken bone. Can you really re-aggravate the healed broken tip of your finger? I don't think so.

Actually, I think the answer is yes. They don't wait for it to be 100% healed before they let him play. They mentioned the other day that when he started practicing they would have to evaluate it for swelling and pain afterward.

Food for though. If/When Corbin decides to play Burke for more than 12 mins, we probably win that game last night. Burke was our best player, and was shooting extremely well. If Burke plays 30 mins last night, he takes away 4-5 shots from Hayward. That might be the difference in the game. Also, we have got to get the ball out of Burks hands. He is NOT a pg. Yikes. Talk about bad TO's.

I wonder if Malone still thinks Burks should be our starting pg?
man that was cool when evans blocked davis!

something weird about Hayward missing all his jumpers, and Evans making them all, even though he only shot two times

It's beginning to look to me like the losing is starting to affect the Jazz players mental state. I think they are pressing, and that's making things worse. Particularly Burks and Hayward. I haven't seen so many heads hanging and so much frustration being

evident since ever. I was in favor of giving Burks time at PG because we were desperate at the time but i believe it was a really bad experiment for him personally. Liked the looks of our rookie Burke hope this continues.

Just as a slight defense of Corbin (playing devil's advocate, essentially), the reasoning with Gobert might have been that he was a bad matchup with all the shooting big men (Davis, Anderson, and Smith) that New Orleans has.

I disagree with that reasoning--Gobert is surprisingly nimble for his size--but that might have been what Corbin was thinking.

I'd like to publicaly apologize to Corbin and others. Genesey tweeted out that Burke was limited to two 5-6 min sessions.

I'm sorry.

Seems like we never get fast break points. Where are the dunks or transition baskets? Am I blind, and just missing them?
I do watch these games at 4am people.

That would be exactly why. Guess the trainers set a hard limit. Good to know.
