Following potential 2014 draftees

I need to watch more of him, but Kyle Anderson reminds me of a slightly slower version of Royce White.

BIG miss by Cal Jr, and could be a huge boon for Alford in his first season in the toughest conference in college basketball.

Kicking myself right now for advising Calipari to pass on Kyle, tbh. Though the kid with one brow is also doin pretty good.

Marcus Smart is making some serious noise.

Averaging 23/4/4/4 .. shooting 41% from 3 on 6 attempts .. averaging 10 FT attempts per game

A lot could change by draft day. Smart, Exum, and Embiid all have a chance to sneak into the top 3, imo. Godz I love this draft.

I'm by no means saying Aaron Gordon is hopeless, but if you're best hope to save face is excuse-making then you're not doing a very good job. Great players make things happen and Gordon isn't that. Not yet, at least.

Sorry but I just pointed out a great defensive play by Gordon to force Parker into a bad shot and Parker getts a whistle that's not justifiable with both the soft factors of how the game has been officiated up to this point and every referee instruction vid of how a block should be called would include this as a bad call.
I go with PKM that coach K's influence might be a factor for such a whistle. Still don't like it when this happens and refs have a good angle to see what's going on.

Btdubs: I just found it odd that Arizona didn't try more basline cuts for Gordon to attack the rim better. When he played in the corner the defense left him plenty of space. He can hit that shot and also he's shown at least once(I fell asleep at some point) that he can take the guy who's late on a closeout off the bounce for a straight line drive to the hoop. Just thought he was underused given his strenghts.

As everyone else is being highlighted so heavily I thought I'd take a look at what Gordon does well. I know he's no Jazz man as his increased talent over Favors or Kanter wouldn't be worth shipping one of them out of town, but he'll be way better than Griffin.

Smart's ability to hit shots...If he continues to do so scouts must consider to select him. Has got the body to be a massive PG mismatch. Don't know about his Defense though. But if he hits shots both spotting up and off the dribble even when it's not NBA 3 point range but midrange would be enough to tease scouts heavily.

So Jabari already lost a couple of big showdown, firstly with Wiggin's Kansas... now with Gordon's Arizona... both when Duke was leading then faded late in the 2nd half.

The question is: Should we be concern? Especially about his athleticism, fitness and overall upside?

IMO? No.

This Duke team isn't very good. Jabari is clearly their only player. Arizona is rock solid and Wiggins isn't even the best player on his own team.

should Lebron have been passed on in free agency because his Cleveland teams could never win the title?

Parker is clearly the best player in the NCAA right now. He's clearly the #1 or #2 prospect from this draft. If Wiggins can develop ball handling skills and a take charge attitude (since he scores so much from fast break dunks) then he will be the #1 prospect. Until then, it's gotta be Parker and it isn't even close. I would strongly consider Randle right now at #2.

In a way, Wiggins is overhyped right now. Until he develops he isn't going to be this "star" that so many have already proclaimed him to be. He's still so very raw. The NBA has plenty of raw athletes. He will need to develop ball handling and shooting skills if he hopes to become something special in the NBA. While I see Parker as already there. The man could start right now for us and be our best player by far.

He can score from anywhere, defend anything, posterize defenders on fast breaks, and can create off the dribble for teammates. He's the closest thing to Lebron as I've seen since Lebron. At the very worst, he's Paul Pierce, Danny Granger (before injuries), or an unselfish Melo with less post up ability but more 3 pt range and ball handling.

What's the story with Plumlee III? Is he not a run and jump type guy like the other ones?

He's just not a bb player. Like sympathy schollie or something.
Who should be doing better, imo, is Amile Jefferson. He's not awesome but I expected more than we're seeing for sure.

I don't see Parker getting that much better in the nba, where as Wiggins hasn't even scratched the surface of how good he will be. I've watched him a few times. Parker, He's really good, but at the same time he's a little limited in what he can do, where as Wiggins is the quintessential limitless untapped potential type player, hell he's already a better shooter then LBJ was at the time LBJ entered the league.

If Wiggins were to for some reason play 4 years (knock on wood) at Kansas, he'd probably be recognized as one of the greatest College players of all time. He's not as polished as Parker is, but I see him improving every year gor the next 5 to 7 years. Where as I see Parker just getting marginally better over the next 2 or 3 years going in a similar career path as Pierce before the C's got Garnett and Allen to go with Pierce.

I sure would like to see Embiid with more minutes. Hopefully he leans not to foul.
In 12 minutes of play yesterday;
10pts
5rbs
4fouls

Super duper upside.

This^^

I think Gordon and Embiid are the two players most likely to stay for their sophomore seasons.

This is what separates him and Wiggins from the rest. Not saying Embiid will be a better selection then Parker, but I wouldn't be surpised if it happened though.
