Following potential 2014 draftees

Finally got to see Parker play vs Arizona. I can see the Carmelo Anthony comparision- he is a very skilled scorer. He doesn't appear to be the athlete that Carmelo is and I wonder if he is a little smaller. He struggled with Arizona's length and athletic ability. Specifically Gordon seemed to bother his shots.

Oh and Parker got switched on Arizona PG and fell down with the guard crossed him up. He may not be able to guard 3's in the league.

On the other hand Parker could still stand to lose some more fat and could become more explosive.

finally some footage of Zach LaVine playing for UCLA has been uploaded, hes skinny so im not sure this belongs in the 2014 thread BUT i cant imagine he wouldn't get drafted in the 1st round this season if he continues to play like this, he passes the eye test with flying colors... (no?)

hes got one of those classic late growth spurt stories, was 5'11 for most of his highschool career then hit a 4-5" growth spurt

Those are great highlights. But shooting guards in the league have to be able to drive the ball against defense and create shots. LaVine didn't show any of that.

He looks like a prototypical center. Needs to develop obviously, but his talent level is very high. Definitely All Star potential.

Looks similar to Austin Rivers but more athletic. He can probably be more effective than Rivers as a pro since he doesn't have to dominate the ball to score. Hitting those three's off a curl was impressive. Keep us updated.
 
SVG (Stan Van Gundy) just said during broadcast of Kansas v UTEP on NBCSN that he talked to scout at game, that he wouldn't name, but said scout told SVG that he would take Joel Embiid #1!
 
Just as the UTEP v Kansas game came back from commercial break saw Walt Perrin in one of the camera shots of scouts and the crowd, so our lead scout is watching this Kansas team in person.

Yes agreed. His offensive improvement is really giving me a lot of warm heart ATM.


Embiid and Favors defensively could be like Robinson & Duncan lite. Championship Calibre right there.
