What's new

Thats more like the real Enes Kanter right now !!!

The role he had was perfect tonight. Bring him off the bench, but still give him 30 mins. Same with Burks. And, at the same time, limit the mins of RJ and MW to < 20. If Corbin were to do this EVERY night, I'd be happy with Ty.

This is what everyone has been saying....... well almost everyone.

i dont get it.

one game kanter looks like a baller next game he looks like he is mentally lost on all sides.

still needs to improve his DEFENSE. He is still young as hell and started playing basketball at the age of 16? he is only 21.

Although he doesn't seem very athletic they could try working him out. Im starting to think Kanter will emerge big time when he hits about 22-24.

You answered your own question. Young players without much experience whose minutes have been/are very inconsistent are going to have alot of ups and downs usually

Kanter dominates the little people just fine. Dude needs to get some confidence and find a way to overpower better players. Competition makes and breaks him.

Seraphin (6-10, 280) and Gortat (6-11, 240) little people?

The story with Pekovic is that he might be the hardest player to defend at post and post against in the league. He gets in great position at the paint and Kanter couldn't do anything about it. At offensive end whole game I hoped that he would use his speed against him at high post like he was doing occasionally but he kept forcing it at post and mid range which was not working obv. Thats why he should try different ways to score upon different personas. Maybe that can fix this problem.

Childish behavior. He should accept his down sides against his match-up and think wisely to find the gaps in the guy's game.

It's not quite that cut and dry, but there is obviously a particular disparity in his production against lesser players. The thing that frustrates me is that he isn't even looking at the floor or to pass when he gets a post catch. The only time he considers such an outlandish thing is when he gets swarmed or whatever he's doing isn't even close to working. That isn't winning basketball, and if Kanter reaches a point where he can regularly abuse starting-calibre players, he will have a steep learning curve on playing good team basketball. He seriously is giving Al a run for his money on being a ball-stopper.

Feeding into all of this and something that also reflects some improvement is his general speed in-game. He was plagued with this apparent mental fog leading up to the last couple of weeks and he's finally making quicker decisions. That said, he still could improve on getting into his move faster. He's also not very good at establishing deep position before a catch which would make his life immensely easier. I wonder sometimes if the plays the Jazz run just don't help cultivate him to be the best player he can be (part of his passing problems are that he gets such an extreme left-side isolation that he faces a wall when he goes middle and has to pass through traffic [which is why you see him sometimes run out of the post to the 3pt line to make the pass], I don't notice him getting many cross-screens to get him closer to the basket, and the Jazz don't seem very focused on getting him TIMELY passes in the post).

It's not play setup IMO, but since you brought it up I'll go through some tape to see what you're seeing. Trey has been excellent all season on setting the UCLA backscreen for him and Favors. He sets good "not moving" picks.

Loading up left side on low-post iso is what everyone runs in deep post. There just isn't much else to do, and no big gets many assists from that spot. You can't run many cuts out of a set where their best rim protector is on somebody's back down low, and everyone else is packed tight in strong helping spots while passing lanes are closed like rush hour traffic.

You're spot on with Kanter not moving quickly from the post. This is mostly what separates the greats from the Allerina Jefferson game, and the reason I've been down on Kanter for three years running. He's just too damn slow to dominate. That slowness goes away against better competition and he needs to repeat this against the best no matter how badly he fails at first if he wants to grow.

Al is one of the greatest, sir. Do not forget what he has done for Utah Jazz...

Just imagine what enez the great will do for the jazz. It's like de ja vu each time he comes on the court.

If Kanter could turn into AL at this age, we could have a potential HoF Player. It was a stupid mistake letting BIG-AEEEL walk away. This guy was our soul, he was UTAH BASKETBALL; HE WAS EVEN JAZZBASKETBALL. After BIG-AAEL left true oldschool fans like dutchjazzer never watched JAZZBASKETBALL again.

Despite cakars trolling, this part of his post is actually kinda true.

Kanter is 21 years old and has had very limited playing time in his career.

If he is already as good as big al then that is awesome and he could end up being special

Carry on my wayward troll, there'll be peace when you are done.
Lay your weary had to rest, don't you cry no more

You will match the force of BIG-AAEL, never forget who keeps us in buisness. If you you do, you will pray, for forgiveness. God forgives, AL don´t. So stop bitching against AL.
