In all fairness to Burke, he played when curry was in the game. When curry was in the game the Warriors P&Red the Jazz to death. Why? Kanter and Gobert played Jefferson defense. You would have thought that Curry was Earl Watson out there with the lack of help defense our bigs were giving. A simple P&R with our big sagging 5-7 feet off curry helped give away the game and screw up Burke's +-.

Barry acted all surprised at our defense. Apparently he's never seen a Corbin coached team.

Jon Barry's rant at 4:21 in the 4th says it all. "CMON! This isn't Stockton 2 Malone. You shouldn't stay with the roller. It's simple, stick to curry, trap him, and get the ball out of his hands. You can't keep giving him clean looks for easy 3 pointers."

I believe I read or heard on the radio that Ty changed the plan for the bigs defending the P+R. Earlier in the year they were going to trap the guard, now they are retreating. So didn't our bigs play it Ty's way?

Dumbass ty should adjust the pick n roll defense based on the opponent

I agree with this strategy (see my .gif defense thread). Ty did this a lot last season and got *** raped for it by fans and Zach Lowe. I figure he has decided to simplify coverage and build upon Blue/drop down.

I don't like the drop by Marvin @ 4 when they go toward the center. Marvin can move his feet fast enough to use flash coverage. However, If Favors flashes on Curry like you want it won't end well for the jazz.

BTW, I've inquired all this to Matt Harpring, David Locke, Gordon Chiesa, thurl Baily, etc. but they're being elitist hacks and refuse to respond. I. Guess I'll have to snail mail TyCo every day for a shot at answers. Maybe Phil Johnson...

It wasn't until the last 2-3 mins of the game that our bigs actually helped on the P&R rather than sag off and stick to the screener. By that time Curry had done his damage with 40+.

Our strategy against curry was downright the most asinine defense I've ever seen. It probably should have gotten Corbin fired. But like Rasputin, Corbin keeps coming back from what should have been fatal gun shots.
