Following potential 2014 draftees

I am not a big fan of smart. I don't hate him but if the Jazz are picking around 6-8. I'd rather take a little bit of a flier on James Young or one of the Harrison twins. I know this is high for these guys but I think they have more potential than Smart. Besides I would probable move down if possible after the top 5 guys are gone.

Stauskas.

on the app. square bizness.

my run down of the top 10 and how I would see them fit.

embiid - I wet myself just thinking of him playing for the jazz. I think he is the type of player you can build around. if the jazz didn't get top 3 I would seriously consider an offer of kanter and favors to draft embiid.

wiggins - he is so effortless out on the court it seems like he is coasting. has a great chance to be the best and would a great fit playing either the 2 or the 3. the question would be would burks be happy being the super sub (6th man)

Parker - I see him as the perfect at the 3 for the jazz. little concerned about his defense and scoring over length. I think he will eventually have to transition to the 4 but for the first 8 to 10 he should be able to play the 3. I personally think he is going back to duke.

exum - is for me the hardest to judge because I know so little. I see him for the jazz playing the 2 but getting all the back up minutes to Burke., again can burks be the super sub?

randle - I am still very high on him. I think against single coverage he will be almost unstoppable. I think he could play very well next to favors. then have kanter anchor the second unit.

smart - I love 2 way players. his shot concerns me and the fact he won't be able to over power ever player he faces. in this case I would make him the super sub and start burks unless he likes his role. he would play the 1 and the 2 all Back up minutes.

vonleh - if the jazz could pull off the embiid trade and keep their own pick a front line of embiid and vonleh would soon be the best in the nba. if he is just drafted I love him with kanter because of his defense and favors. I am big on vonleh.

Gordon - love his defense. hard to find players that enjoy playing defense. he seems like he will have the work ethic to get better offensively but a 3 pt shot will be come important. I see him playing the 3 for the jazz but like Parker will eventually need to transition to the 4.

ok make it only 8 after this it gets muddy.

wow. ridley owned embiid. embiid is just too damn lanky. he will get pushed around in nba if he doesn't get stronger.

Very solid.

We can't fall out of the top 8, or this season was an official disaster.

What makes Vonleh interesting is he's a long, active defender who also has college 3 point range (not sure if he'll shoot 3's in the NBA...maybe at some point). Who else falls under the the description of being a hard nosed defending big AND a floor spreader?

None from the PF spot. Marvin might be the closest but he is a SF playing PF. If you replace him with Vonleh who can do what Marvin can AND defend the bigger PFs, it would theoretically lead to a lot of wins.

I think Vonleh is an underrated athlete for a guy his size. He's now listing just a bit under 6'10". An athletic 2-way player who can score inside and out is always valuable. He'll always have open looks from 18 - 20 feet, like Lamarcus Aldridge does, and Vonleh might have about the same talent level as Aldridge. It's true he's probably more of a PF than a combo though.

Just want to say that vonleh is my guy.
Im prez of the vonleh for 2014 fan club

Never seen an indiana game btw.

Dont care, he still my guy

Amazing game between duke and syracuse.
Seemed like the refs screwed duke.... fell for a couple cuse flops and missed a call right at the end of OT

I like Vonleh, a lot. Reminds me of a bigger Marvin coming out of UNC, which isn't bad.
