I meant to say, "what is NOT sucking for nothing worth?"
In other words, how does it help us to get a lesser draftee/prospect but win like 5 more games?
Preaching to the choir, here.

That's my real hope: that Utah can stay within the top-8. Hopefully with the schedule getting tougher after the all-star break and EC teams playing each other more, teams like Detroit, Cleveland and NY will win at a better pace than Utah. Cousins needs to come back soon for Sacramento and Kobe needs to return wanting to win a few games. There's no one outside the top 8 worth tanking for, though. And no, of course not all of them are guaranteed to be All-Stars. But I think there will be more of them that pan out than those who don't.

Basically. But I'm really scared Parker stays in school and we suddenly need a top 7, not top 8.
I've pretty much resigned myself to the belief Utah will get Vonleh or Gordon. That way, if the Jazz did get lucky - either via the lottery, or by going on a long losing string while Boston, Philly or even Orlando win several games - I'd be unexpectedly happy. Otherwise, I'm just going to get too depressed by every Jazz victory.

All I am saying is that Vonleh might be better than Smart. Smart has been consistently ranked higher in the mocks but might not be the better player. Gordon is the same way. Both of these guys have shown just as much as Wiggins or Embiid or Exum. Will Gordon or Vonleh be superstars, probably not but they might be at the All-star level some day. They have the physical gifts so perhaps team fit, their improvement and work ethic might be the difference between this outside the top 8 guys.
They are moving up in many mocks and remember people thought Kenny Green was better than Karl Malone. All I am saying is you never know how a person's career will go neither do we know at this point where the Jazz are going to draft. I think the Jazz can get a very good player in the top 10.
FWIW, first-time I ever heard Vonleh's name was from PG_AB, before the season started-- we were all tripping out about Randle/Wiggins et al., but he was all like "yo guys, keep an eye on Vonleh he could be one of the best players of the draft".

Not sure if Peeks remembers.
But does anyone really exist before PKM starts talking about them?
I had heard about Vonleh before the season began, but didn't give him much thought. We were much more focused on the top-5 which has now been altered by the inclusion of Embiid. Vonleh was outside the top-10, IIRC, but a few players have dropped since then and Vonleh has moved up.
I'm really jealous of Orlando right now. They are setting up to get Wiggins at #2 and will take care of their future PG need at 12 with Tyler Ennis. Goodness.
And they have Dipo, Harris and Vucevic already which isn't bad either. Right know we have the better core but with Wiggins + Ennis they would crush us! Did I mentioned before that I want Wiggins?
I want Wiggins!
This. ^^^Me too bro. Me too.
Anyone in the top 5 would have me pretty damn excited.

thx for the shoutout Dal. I was the original Vonleh over Randle guy, (back when i thought Andrew Harrison would be a top 2 pick...) its been lots of fun watching Noah improve since then. Tom Crean even expected his rebounding to decline during conference play which hasn't happened.
9.6 rebounds in 25mpg is in Demarcus Cousins territory(9.9 in 23.5)
the jazz are letting up 55% shooting in the paint im not sure that can be fixed in this draft but adding Vonleh to play PF next to Favors would make a huge difference defending the rim.
