14th Tank Platoon

ya, not hard to understand. Its a game of luck. So far no luck on the 4th pick. Again, we arent talking about doing this thousands of time. Its one time.

1st slot vs field so far...2-14

Somewhere between 2-6 > 1st slot

if we are talking about winning the first pick.

Please stop, you're embarrassing yourself. And making my head hurt. What you are proposing is basically the reverse of the Gambler's Fallacy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler's_fallacy

Most people who get this wrong would see a 2/14 record for the first pick and say, "the luck is about to change", there must be a greater than usual chance this year. That's obviously wrong, and hard enough for me to understand why people would think that way. That's the Gambler's Fallacy. But what you are saying the is the reverse of that: "Luck has been bad in the past, so it will be just as unlucky this year". That fallacy is so uncommon I couldn't even find a term for it when I googled it just now. It's sort of the Inverse Gambler's Fallacy, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse_gambler's_fallacy, but not quite.

Because their bench is worse.

They bring Barnes off the bench, that is it. Crawford hasn't assimilated yet. Earlier in the year Iggy was doing great and playing the role Jack did and helping them win games. That ain't happening anymore and Iggy has been playing really mediocre basketball. Iggy, Barnes, and Thompson have gone through long stretches of mediocre basketball and that is a big reason they are in the 8th spot.

Per game averages are better as a whole both offensively and defensively. Definitely injuries have played a huge part. They had that 10 game winning streak when everyone was healthy and they were firing on all cylinders. Since then, various players have been out, a few have struggled with their shots, etc. We can only hope Curry, Thompson, Lee and Bogut get tired legs.

I hear W's are looking to pick up player(s) with their trade exception(s). Don't see many teams out there that need to dump salaries, though. And the W's have few assets to offer as we took them all! Can't trade their 1st rounder for next year. And don't we also have their 2017? That would mean they couldn't trade a 1st in either 2016 or 2018, IINM. Who can they get for whatever 2nd-rounders they have left? Probably no one decent enough to really help.

Shhh...I was just about to propose a bet with Hack. Now look what you've done!

I'm just going to quote this and also put it in bold and make it bigger so nobody has an excuse for being dumb from now on.

I'm praying so hard for 7th right now bro. that is absolute best case scenario at this point.

Gotta get dat 7 and jump up to top 3.

Don't panic yet. Utah won their last two against D-League quality opponents, barely hanging on against one that had lost by 40+ in consecutive games. Granted the Miami game was an outlier, but the Jazz are just Heat killers. I credit Sundiata Gaines for etching permanent doubt in LeBron's mind. I'll bet LBJ wakes up with searing pain across his forehead and a case of the cold sweats, just at the thought of having to play in Salt lake.

The schedule was extremely easy for Utah of late. And the Jazz likely pick up a couple more quick wins after the all-star break. Then the tide turns and Utah could fall back again in March. Keep the faith!

I panicked almost 40 games ago, declared the tank dead and the season a total waste and failure, and was summarily laughed off the board by simpletons with zero NBA knowledge. This was back when we had 3 wins.

7th IS the best case scenario at this point.

I am insanely smart and good with this **** and never have or will be wrong. Do not question me ever. EVER.

I bow before your power and wisdom. Forgive me for ever questioning your omniscience.

Although I know PKM is really the power behind your imaginary throne. Without him you are nothing.

Dallas has passed GST, Memphis will pass them soon enough. It's between GSW's health and Phoenix keeping up a pace without adding a player. Two (low) top ten picks is one injury away.

Gasol injured is knee I heard, I don't know what the status is on him. Hope GS falls into the lottery.

GS pick won't be top-10. They're 9 games ahead of Detroit, which would have the 10th position in the lottery standings right now. To even fall to .500 (which would be 14th in the draft), GS would need to go 10-19.

But yes, I am more hopeful of them missing the playoffs. It will take an injury or two, but as Jim Carrey famously said, "so you're telling me there's a chance."
