#SochiProblems XXII Olympic Winter Games

I was watching the ice hockey game as well. I usually don't like it and also fell asleep twice. But I liked the penalty shooting of TJ Oshie vs Russia. Was quite entertaining.

Getting an all-time record for most golds in a single tournament = mediocre?

lol you have a leaf on your flag doe.

Thankful today for the wonderful techmology that is snapchat.

Through this modern miracle I am able to troll Candanns round the globe during this hardship they are experiencing.

@Dalmong will you please explain the seeding after group play? I can't find a good site that explains it.

There are bye's? Who is it looking like the US might play?

Why da *** isn't there just like a bracket easily available for this **** somewhere?

There's 12 teams, right? Top 4 teams get a bye, and the bottom 8 do a playoff. Going off of memory here.

Literally all of Canada has snow, so every Canadian has an opportunity to learn Winter Olympic sports at a young age. Half of America never sees snow.

Seriously, Winter Olympics are just rich white people excelling at sports that poor minorities can't afford to play. Why I can't take Winter Sports seriously as top competition.

423 for a population of 35 million vs 2653 for a population of 314 million?

Canada's medals per citizen > USA.

Get on our levels

Sorry all of America's top athletes are busy playing sports you actually get paid to be good at/ aren't boring as watching paint dry.

Which one of those sentences describes hockey, pray tell

See the post before the post you quoted.

Hockey is cool though, and I guess people get paid. The fact is that it's a regional sport and most of America isn't able to be exposed to it. If you live in the South and want to play Hockey you have to have money to be able to access the facilities necessary. Eliminates a huge portion of the athletic population of America.

Also, even if they could, it would still be the 4th most popular sport. I'm guessing Hockey is the most popular in Canada, maybe 2nd behind soccer.
