14th Tank Platoon

Well, so much for the tank last night. GSW isn't going to miss the playoffs and might catch Portland. Still, a 23-24 pick in this draft should net us a solid backup. Lakers at Sacramento tonight. Likely Kings win, which would move them pretty much out of range. Lakers don't have much chance of picking up another win until the last two games @ Utah and then @SA, in a game in whch the Spurs are likely to just rest their top 6 players.

Even when the Spurs rest players they still play well. League office announced that Mavs were screwed game against GS. Monte Ellis basket should have counted.
Tonight things are not going well. Suns losing and Memphis lost. THey need to step it up.

Lakers lost, But at least The Kings are separating themselves now, they've had a tough schedule.

Sactown is officially no longer in the discussion.

LA has 2 more wins than us, and Boston has 2 likely wins against Philly coming up.

We got this.

Yeah, the Jazz are in a great position to wrap that 4th seed up. I think they only have a win left in them, 2-3 max.

So according to the chart on the first page, the 4th spot means:

1) a 37.8% chance to move into the top 3
2) a 35.1% chance to move down to 5
3) a 9.9% chance to stay at 4
4) a 16% chance to move down to 6
5) a 1.2% chance to move down to 7

For some reason I have nightmares about the Jazz moving to the 6th pick when they had the 3rd pick, though KOC suckered the Blazers into moving up to the 3rd for Deron. Still I like the idea of a 98.2% chance of picking no lower than 6, and an 82.8% of chance of getting a top 5 pick.

So if most likely worst case scenario of the Jazz drafting 6 (I would believe some God/Gods are against us if they picked 7th, and I say this as an agnostic) even if Parker and Embid don't declare it leaves the Jazz with Wiggins/Randle/Exum/Smart/Gordon/Vonlah. Not horrible, but hopefully Vonlah can be pushed out by one of Parker/Embid, and hopefully both of them can push another out or at least make it not disastrous if the Jazz somehow pick 7th.

Remember when Dallas got away twice with Shawn Marion fouls at the buzzer earlier this season?

Lakers schedule is brutal. They may not win another game. And I wouldn't put those Philly games in the W column just yet for Boston. Celtics have been doing just enough to lose. Boston wins 2x; Jazz pick up victories over NO and Lakers. I could honestly see Lakers, Jazz and Celtics ending in a 3-way tie at 25-57.
