What's new

14th Tank Platoon

Obviously both are to blame.

George is a super-star though, despite his recent shooting struggles.

His shooting averages have gone down each year, pretty much. Since the beginning of the year his shooting has been terrible. Can't find stats for it though..

I was absolutely blasted on this forum for suggesting that he wasn't a 'superstar' earlier this year. How about that.

At the time he was playing like a super-star, which is what we were talking about at the time. None of us expected or predicted this regression. Just because the regression happened does not validate your argument.

Don't really consider Paul George an All-star by how he's been playing the last few months tbh.

He made the all-star team. He's an all-star. Is he struggling? yes. Do other all-stars struggle at times? yes.
Indiana really needs a third stud. Turner really hasn't been much of an impact player since the trade. Stephenson probably needs more scoring chances given his percentages. Looking at their stats, everyone has tailed off a bit the last month.

I had yo back bruh

Last time I checked PG is still just 23 years old, inconsistency problems will still happen.

I agree with this part of your post.

You should read bill simmons latest mailbag for his thoughts on paul george

I actually thought he would come back down to earth.
Great all around player...... not a superstar though.

Imo there are only like maybe 5 superstars in the league or something though so its harder to get that superstar status if im the one judging

PG took his game to a new level starting 2nd half of last season. and he performed like a borderline superstar in the playoffs. and he continued to perform well this season, and pacers looked like a team to dethrone Miami.

but then all hell broke loose.

he is still an all star. if he comes through in the playoffs then i'll still consider him a borderline superstar who can be a superstar.

superstars in the nba

bron
durant
(honestly these 2 are only 2 superstars in the league)

huge gap

blake
harden
melo

another gap

cp3
westbrook
curry
brow
dirk
love
noah

did i miss anybody? i could put tony parker, but his stats just don't stack up. duncan too. honestly, i would rather have tony parker over any point guard except cp3.

PG would be in the next tier.

The Paul George love was always kind of a mystery to me. I like the guy, and I would have liked the jazz to have him, bu I do not think if you replace Hayward with George, that our team would be that much better, and if they were, it would be because George could play alongside burks, so the fit would be a little better.

But for all intents and purposes, George is only marginally better than Hayward. People were acting like we missed out on lebron by drafting Hayward instead of George.

^^
Well, Kobe but he's obviously out this season.
I'd put Howard in the next tier down. I agree re: Parker being second behind CP3.

Funny how the list doesn't include anyone from SA, yet they have the best record. Depth and great coaching!

I probably have lebron, durant, cp3, and curry as my superstars.
The brow will get there soon and maybe griffin.

Nowitzki was a superstar but is no longer.

i just dont like melo for whatever reason so he might belong in there but im biased on that one

now that's way out of the line. george is still miles ahead of hayward. it's not even close. george's length, athleticism, and defense alone makes our team better.

i fully expect PG to come out of slump. he may never become a superstar, but he will still be an all star.

I think you are underestimating the damage Corbin can do.

griffin > curry

this year. griffin all season long was top 3-4 player. griffin carried his team without cp3, which was pretty surprising. honestly, i always thought he was nothing without cp3. at one point he was in an mvp discussion - a clear cut #3. i don't even like him, but he really did work on his game. we really take him for granted. yeah, he flops but so does every damn superstars. i guess he is love/hate. i used hate him. never really liked his 'empty stats' never liked his attitude. but now i'm starting to appreciate his game.

and i don't like melo's game either, but he has no help and he puts up stats every night. that team is a mess because they have no defense and they don't have players who compliment melo.

and man i miss D rose. that kid was something special. i hope he is 100% healthy again. it really was a joy to watch that kid play.
