What's new

2014 NBA Playoffs: 1st Round

We'll get a good pick and hopefully a good coach this year, but hopefully by the end of next season we can be where they are - 8th seed in the West and playing some good team basketball.

That would definitely be something to look forward to.

what is this march madness? even thunder looks vulnerable.

blazers vs. hawks finals? make it happen! just say hell no to Heat!

****ing Koufos, man. Dude's still in the league and a serviceable player. GVC was right and I was wrong.

I can't stand KD or the entire okc team. KD is not half the player Lebron is.

that's ridiculous. a guy who avg 32pts and about to be mvp is not half the player bron is? doesn't even make sense

he is just having an off shooting night

OKC's problem is that they don't play team basketball. In the five minute overtime - unless I missed one as I looked through the play by play - the only guy other than Durant or Westbrook to take a shot was Thabo and that was only because he got an offensive rebound and didn't have time not to shoot it. It seems everybody else on the team is either afraid to shoot the ball or they have been told not to. Either way, in close games, unless Westbrook and or Durant are on fire, that isn't a recipe for success. It's a five man game and all five have to be threats. That simply isn't the case for OKC and Brooks will be fired for it if OKC doesn't turn things around.

realistically it's impossible to have 5 guys contributing when you have 2 ball dominant max cats. and they really built the team around them. okc decided to bank on ibaka to be their dominant defender and brought in guys like perkins to be their enforcer. 2 very offensively challenged dudes. ibaka has gotten better, but still you don't want him to take any shots in 4th or OT.

basically they are classic 2 star system which won't translate to wins. you gotta have 1 more. they wish they kept harden, but you can't keep him because he cost too damn much. they brought in caron butler to be their new harden, but he is so damn inconsistent.

Clippers owning Warriors despite sucking it up from the FT line. Warriors have no chance in this series.

It's why you have to have a good coach who knows how to prepare their role players throughout the season. Dudes like Popovich build their guys up through the season so they are ready for the playoffs when it's time to take big shots. OKC doesn't do that nearly as well so you end up with a bunch of players who are predisposed to deferring.

Cp3 hit curry on the elbow (allbeit softly) on that final shot
