No, it's the fellow black students, of course. I was probably insufficiently clear on that, but when I referred to the contemporaries who believe they will never get a fair chance, I did indeed mean the black kids; usually the white kids believe they will get some sort of chance. The white kids use terms to indicate the black kids don't belong, but "sell-out" is not usually among them.
OK, that is better. So part of what is holding down minorities is their own racially charged misonceptions. Interesting.
Are there white kids that would make a minority feel less welcome in their cliche? Absolutely and they should be exposed as the racist bigots they are. But I deny this notion that it is as widespread and ingrained as you assert. That works with those calling a well performing minority a "sell out". Good on that kid for rising above the additional challenges they face.
