Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Lindsey on 1280 today talking about draft workouts: There will be many workouts again this year. The draft is deep, there will be many undrafted players who play in the league. Jazz will start announcing workouts next week.

Lindsey talks so much and says so little. It's a great skill.

I actually think he is pretty honest about most things and says a lot. Its certainly a lot more than KOC. Maybe he just seems like he is saying a lot because KOC said basically nothing. KOC is seriously one of the worst interviews I have ever heard tbh. Thank god he isnt in charge anymore.

The Jazz had 3 rookies get playing time this year.

Yeah, but only one got consistent time. I'd rather the other two get more minutes next year and not have to split more time with the rookies this year. If anything send the rookies not getting time to the d league. I'd be fine with drafting three if we did that.

But they drafted 2 and stashed one.

I see the same happening again if the Jazz keep all three picks. Should get an eventual starter at #4 and a solid rotation player at #23. Draft and stash the BEA (Best Euro Available) at #35. And as Lindsey said, there could be some decent non-drafted players. Utah would be a good place for agents to steer those guys to since there should be a few roster spots AND playing time available.

So optimistic. Great job.

To be honest, we won't be tanking next year, but we'll still be sorta bad. I'm hoping to see progress to around 36 win mark. Gotta trend upward and keep improving.

I believe that no Corbin means at least 3 more wins.

Having the main guys stay healthy will add another 3 wins.

Playing up tempo will add at least two 2 more wins.

The final wins will he a product of who the Jazz draft as well as who the next HC is.

Those are just my thoughts.

They aren't tanking again next year?

I certainly hope not. We have our team to place around that key piece. Now we draft that marquee player in this draft and land a new coach that can make this group reach their potential. I am hoping that we finish much higher next year.

This season is gonna be the fun season we have all been waiting for.

Bro, last season was supposed to be fun too but at the end it has been one of the most boring seasons to watch....so it is better to not excite ourselves too much....all depends on the choice of the coach!

Yeah. And the coach that had caused that boring season is gone. They say Kanter will shoot threes. I'm really excited to see what the FO and the new coach will do with Kanter after his latest comments about the misuse of the young players by Ty. If Jazz can land Messina, I will sit back and watch if this high potential young roster can adapt to the patterns he will load to the team. I have been saying that the Jazz need to try to become a team like the Spurs for years. And that they have the highest potential to become that thing. Now the talks are about Ettore Messina ?!? 'ts good. 'ts really good. I don't know about you but this is the season I have been waiting for. Keep the hopes high braw!

You can be excited all you want but even with a new coach the Jazz are not going to be a contender for a few more years and that is if everything goes right. There a lot of very good teams in the western conference so taking a dramatic jump isn't going to happen overnight.

So what should we define as a contender? Because Houston was a contender, but they lost in the first round. And we all know everybody was complaining here of losing in the first round. So I just want an exciting team that gets respect.

I'd take a playoff win - or two - in the 1st round. Getting swept, with 3 of those losses by 15, 31 and 12 points is not my definition of success.

First round this year has been amazing!
In the WC, 3 of the series went 7 games and Portland/Houston was a terrific 6 game battle, with three OT games.
In the EC, 2 of the series went 7 games, Chicago/Washington only 5, but all within 9 pts. Only Miami/Charlotte wasn't tight. But the Bobcats worst defeat was by 13, so at least respectable.
