I agree, the thought is Kanter (at PF) can extend his range to the three point line. He probably has a better chance of hitting threes than any big not named Parker in this draft.
So you would have:
Favors
Kanter
A. Gordon
Hayward
Burke
6th: Burks
Bench: Evans, Gobert, Clark, Neto?, FA, GS pick
I am not super high on Gordon, but we need a big athletic player that can some day slow down guys like Durant and Lebron. It all comes back to them, they are the gatekeepers. If we don't draft one will have to overpay on the free agent market.
If we want Gordon then we need to trade our other 1st rounder and package it up with a player from our roster to draft him.
Using our top pick on him would be a tremendous waste.
It's pretty simple, our pick needs to be our franchise go to player. Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum. Those will be the most likely options.
Drafting Gordon is fine. Just not in the top 5.
Make no mistake, our franchise it at a crossroads here. We screw up here we are screwed for the next 3+ years.
