Following potential 2014 draftees

No way they would do that. Unpossible.
They may, however, do Kanter and 23 for their 10. Now maybe we could do some damage.

There's an idea. Kanter and 23 for 10. Take Randle with the early pick to replace Kanter's scoring and rebounding and grab McDermott at 10 for shooting.

I'd be worried even if he weren't a poly, but since he is half poly (actually, Tongan, IIRC), I agree the concern doubles. There is a reason polys are great athletes as little kids, still pretty dominant in HS football (by HS they are already generally too fat to play basketball), start to thin out in college and you see very, very, few - other than the fat positions like D-line and O-line - in the pros. When they get old, they get fat. Period.

Doesn't mean Jabari has no hope, but I, for one, don't want him. Not to mention, I'm just not that impressed with his game.

Yeah sorry, supposed to say Tongan... but yeah I tend to agree... I wished there was a way to determine how out of shape Jabari would be in about 10 years' time.

What if 4 and 10 got you 1?

We will get #1 on Tuesday, so what's the point?

In reality, I would give up anybody to have that #1 pick.

I also really hope that the "Jazz love Parker and will take him at #1" is a smokescreen.

I think that is bs.

As a trained anthropologist just let me say this:
There are no early accounts of polynesians which describe them as being fat. None.

Like other ethnic groups, it appears that polynesians don't do particularly well with modern food preparations. If Jabari comes here and follows Derrick and Gordo to subway for 4 foot-longs a day, then that wouldn't be great (it's not good for Derrick or Gordo either).

I have no doubt that if Jabari is motivated to have a big svelte body, then he can do it. He needs a good nutritionist.

(BTW, why don't more of these millionaires have specialized nutritionists?? For me, this is probably the most surprising thing about the NBA... this is one area where a lot of players could improve).

I hope so. The fact that the Jazz rarely leak any info tells me that it's fake but you can never be sure.

I actually have Parker behind Wiggins and Exum and I'd have Embiid ahead of him too if I knew more about the back injury.

Except for defense.

A fair point, however....Kanter can't play defense anyway, so you lose nothing there - most people here would kill to end up with Jabari who might be the worst defender I've ever seen in college, and I'm not sure who you're going to get at 10 that will have a big defensive impact anyway. Hire a coach who is defensive minded and can teach defense and you'll do a lot more for your defense than drafting some rookie.

Is Anthropology a Science?

If not - GTFO.

Uh oh guys, Randle had the 8th highest body fat at the combine. No more Randle for us, he's too fat.

Same with Stauskas, dude had the 5th highest.

Oh man, Smart had the 4th highest.

Well our options are slowly dying down, Wiggins, Exum, Vonleh and Gordon are our options for our top pick.
