Following potential 2014 draftees

Nah I don't think that's a good lineup.

Smart & Burks = The Clank Brothers.

Alec burks outside shot has come around.

In fact his 3pt percentage was MUCH better than haywards last year

Vonleh WAS an SF. Then he grew 1.5 inches and gained 25 lbs. He's not far off. A bunch of guys at 6'9" 240 lbs have played SF, including Kevin Durant, Marvin Williams, AK, Rashard Lewis, Lamar Odom....

Oh, and while we're at it, add Jabari Parker.

Vonleh has enough perimeter skills on offense to do it, and defensively I think he can challenge most SFs with his length. There's just going to be an occasional Nic Batum-type match-up, where you'd want Hayward or Evans to play SF.

Ron Artest was playing SF at 260lbs+

i dont think Vonleh getting minutes at SF is out of the question, at all, according to Chad Ford, the more teams look at him the more they are impressed with everything, so im sure part of that is SF skills

Chad Ford also praised Tom Crean for developing Noahs post game, IU did not possess the balance or roster to even experiment with Noah on the wing, theres certainly reason to believe he can play some SF, but just didnt have the opportunity to show it off, because if he wasn't rebounding.... who was?

when i did make my posts about Vonleh way back when, part of it was about Vonleh at SF, next to Kanter and Favors, im fairly certain at that time I compared Noah to a big african Carmelo.. but yeah, he looks like a PF so thats what he will be called, the hybrid positions have been beaten to death by hotnick in this years thread so people are quick to dismiss it, but with Noah there's actually something there, theres no doubt in my mind that hes more comfortable facing up from the perimeter, than with his back to the basket

if he were to be able to pull off SF, im 100% sure his passing would be leaps and bounds better than what you saw at IU with his back to the basket getting double teamed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5RFyUtl2o0 ... this is just not what you see from those sized PF's in highschool, i love this dunk..

Catchall if you like big PF's who can do **** like this id really suggest watching some highlights of Harry Giles, and hes a lefty.. top 3 player by all recruiting services in the class of 2016, hes my favorite player in HS bar-none, id draft him #5 this year at 16 years old if it was allowed

i do wonder how the Lakers would use Vonleh next year, apparently they are 'infatuated' with him

I think i would do that trade even without the #10 pick.

If we get the 10 then that would be a steal

So who is out stopper in this scenario? Not a fan of dumping favors and 5 for a prospect. Like him or hate him, favors is a developing big with athleticism that is very hard to come by

You make a good point.

ill say this though, i kind of think alot of teams looking at Noah are specifically concerned with their teams PF position.

he fits well next to Cousins and Gay in Sacramento

if Minny trades Love somehow, i could totally see them going after Vonleh as a replacement

he fits next to Pau Gasol, but i think the lakers are going to give Greg Monroe a max deal, he certainly fits next to Monroe

he wont fall to 10 but all year i thought there was 0 chance that hometown kid Noah Vonleh would fall past the 76ers, hes a great fit next to Noel

i do however think if hes the pick at 5 we will be seeing him some at SF, PF and Center off the bench

Lol wow. I don't think he has ever looked a pound over 225 unless he went to trough the past year.

yeah i didnt realize he was THAT big either, i was definitely surprised when i first saw it...

i remember a totally bizarre interview he did during a Summer League game last year, the day the knicks signed him and he looked fairly shredded and had a sort of noticable skinny neck going, the announcers were talking about what great shape he was in all game long.
