Following potential 2014 draftees

I'm likewise high on Vonleh, but no higher than 4 (realistically 5, I'll assume the Exum hype is warranted).

I do not see him in the same tier as Wiggins, Embiid, or Jabari. The physical tools and skills are there, and by all accounts he's extremely coachable. But he's got aways to go and don't know if he has enough "**** you" to his game.

I think Wiggins has miles to go as well, and has the same questionable assertiveness issues. But for as passive as he was at KU, he's got so much God-given talent he couldn't help being arguably the most productive freshman in the country. He's otherworldly as a physical specimen.

Didn't Durant have that same "weakness" coming out of college?

I don't think so. I remember Bill Simmons talking about loving Durant because he reminded him of MJ having that "rip your heart out" mentality. There's also the fact that Durant put up something like 25 and 11 at Texas, so I doubt he was very passive.

Lamar Odom has the both of them in ball handling

i think both Gordon and Noah have good handle at the 4 though

presuming AG has a 'good' or above average handle at SF is an issue for me

again, Vonleh was out of position to show off his ball skills on the perimeter, if you judge by Highschool Aaron Gordons handle is certainly not much better, if it is at all, for the Highschool footage ive seen id have to give the nod to Noah, like i posted before he averaged 7 assists a game as a sophomore, His position at New Hampton, Haverhill and on his AAU team Mass Rivals was infact Point Forward, Noah dribbles the ball very low for someone his size, im not particularly crazy about how high Aaron dribbles the ball tbh

Gordon was 2.8 assists per as a JR and 3.4 per as a SR.

there is no argument about the differences in handle shown in college, Noah however can land on a ****ty NBA team and have way more help/freedom than he did at IU last year.

in an open gym workout im certain Vonleh can do a ton of spectacular dribbling, i cant wait to hear reports and see the footage from workouts.

Yugoslavian phenom Darko Milicic has the skills to make the jump to the NBA. All David Stern has to do is say when.

It seems to me like Darko was the obvious choice to be a top-3 pick. It was basically, LeBron, Darko, and Carmelo. Wade and Bosh would be nice consolation prizes, but you wanted to get in the top-3. Especially when Dirk, Divac, Stojakovic, and Sabonis all were doing well in the NBA, the European influence was strong to find the next big thing.

Jeff Goodman just came out with his 3.0 mock draft today. Has the Jazz taking Randle at #5:

5. Utah Jazz- Julius Randle

The Jazz will likely decide between Randle and Noah Vonleh, but look for them to go with Randle because of his ability to bring a toughness and physical presence from the outset. Randle could coexist with guys such as Derrick Favors and/or Enes Kanter up front.

You mean the same KD who averaged 26 and 11 at 17 years old?

KD is quiet, but he was a killer in college. I was actually a student manager for the Texas basketball team when he played in '06-'07. Silent assassin. Trust me.

I'm going to be really angry if DL doesn't give a lot of consideration to Smart because of some perceived "bad community fit".

Chad Ford @chadfordinsider

Noah Vonleh drawing serious praise from NBA execs after a workout in NY on Wed.
Chad Ford @chadfordinsider

"Vonleh was good. Didn't shoot it well but everything else was very good to ridiculously good" according to 1 NBA exec.

Chad Ford @chadfordinsider

Said another "Vonleh's got elite physical tools and is very skilled. He should be in the same group with Wiggins, Embiid, Parker & Exum"

Surprised he didn't shoot it well, according to a lot of you guys he has NBA range on his 3 ball.

He's actually Bushwick Bills full grown twin, Chad Bill.

Bushwick bill lol.

Thanks for making me remember all the good times i had in my youth with the ghetto boys.

I appreciate it bohdi. And ya he looks like bushwick in that photo.

Anymore of them workout vids? (Wiggins, vonleh, randle)

"He can shoot the ball out way past the arc. For a stretch four, that's what you want," said Ryan Blake, senior director of NBA scouting operations

its not just us in the draft thread saying it.

15/25 from 3 in 16 Big10 conference games is fairly prolific.. no?

is this something scouts/execs are saying about Gordon or Smart ? (I'm genuinely wondering.. ill rep anyone who posts a quote)

Prolific? That's a very small sample size.
