What are the chances that Brad Jones is the mystery 4th candidate? Isn't he the assistant that we brought back to help with draft workouts?

I don't think there would be a need to keep it "hush-hush." Jones has been an excellent assistant and D-League coach and has ties to Lindsey, Sloan and the Millers. I had predicted he'd be the coach, but with a young team, I think Utah is looking for a real battle-tested leader. Have to admit I'm really holding out hope for Messina or JVG.

Having to resign amidst multiple NCAA violations likely hurts Snyder. I'd be ok with Griffin or Snyder, though. I like what DeMarre said about a coach actually working with him on footwork. What a novel idea...to actually spend time helping your players get better. And all along, I thought that was the sole responsibility of the guys at P3.

But Corbin also spent time with Memo trying to make him better, of which Memo testified of.

Told Jazz assistant coach Brad Jones is on the short list for Utah's head coach opening with Alvin Gentry, Adrian Griffin and Quin Snyder.

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like Quin Snyder remains at the front of the pack for the Utah Jazz coaching position. Jazz like them all.

Justin Zanik has spent time in Europe since season ended. Jazz assistant GM's likely talked to Ettore Messina but don't think he's in mix.

Snyder certainly has the experience: successful as a college HC, a D-League coach, has been an assistant on some very good teams. Also had a one-year stint with CSKA. Of the four mentioned, he's probably the most qualified.

And looks the most like Patrick Bateman. So, yeah, Snyder gets my vote.

This makes me happy. Glad to hear Snyder is at head of pack. He's most intriguing followed by a Griffin a distant second with Gentry...well let's just hope it's Snyder

Tooting my own cyber horn for predicting this in this thread this morning. However, I am very underwhelmed and was hoping for Van Gundy or even Messina/Blatt. Of the 4, I would be comfortable with either Griffin or Snyder and severely disappointed by either Jones or Gentry.

Is this guy from the Greenmile Patrick Bateman? Regardless, this is who I see in my minds eye when they say Quin Snyder...

Here is a better picture of Quin

If I was a multi millionaire, I wouldn't be one for very long because I'd pay a large sum to hire Al Pacino and Christain Slater to reenact this photo for my pleasure. Like a really elaborate set and everything. Big build up, managers involved, private jets etc etc, then 20 secs of actually photography followed by them inevitably asking, awkwardly, "is that it?".

To which I'd reply, "huh?".

Does anyone else find it interesting that after weeks of near silence there are now leaks to local reporters from unnamed sources inside the Jazz? and the sources are actually leaking names of the candidates.

Sounds to me like the Jazz are wanting a little public feedback about their potential coach. Vetting the candidates before they officially acknowledge anything.

Well, if that is what they are wanting and waiting for....we should give it to them. Shouldn't we?

I think Snyder is still a "show cause" to the NCAA if he wants to coach in college again for his rules violations.

Brad Jones is the "mystery" 4th? I am so underwhelmed. This past year has been such a huge disappointment from poor player development, bad coaching, bad lottery luck and now a drawn out coaching search for ... this. In the 30+ years I've been following the Jazz, I've always looked forward to the next season with optimism, but I fear next year will be a rehash of last season.
