What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

I must admit, anyone but Blatt/Messina will be a disappointment.

This.

If the Jazz Org. wants feedback then let them have it. But to me the coaching search thus far has been very very disappointing. DL said on an interview once "We are in no hurry because we are comfortable of the availability of coaching talent".

Like **** you are if you're looking at the likes of Gentry, Snyder and Griffin. Cos none else wants to touch these guys!!!!

C'mon Lindsey, you've let the likes of Budenholzer and Hornacek slip through your fingers, and now we get this group of so called 'talent'? Please do better.

If I was a multi millionaire, I wouldn't be one for very long because I'd pay a large sum to hire Al Pacino and Christain Slater to reenact this photo for my pleasure. Like a really elaborate set and everything. Big build up, managers involved, private jets etc etc, then 20 secs of actually photography followed by them inevitably asking, awkwardly, "is that it?".

To which I'd reply, "huh?".

Coach K look more like Bobby DeNiro though.

Oh I see because DeMarre Carroll said Snyder helped him with his foot work (when specifically asked a question about Snyder) that has to equal no one ever worked with him ever when he was on the Jazz. Also coincidentally since he didn't say he ever he met with the equipment manager I bet he had all his own uniforms custom made out of his own pocket (actually more believable since he had his own line of shirts and often talked about his fashion).

Also the reason Corbin worked with Memo is because as one of the asst coaches he worked with the big men (hence his work out with Kanter during the draft process).

Except for Snyder having interviewed with the 76ers in the past, Gentry interviewing with the Lakers and Cavs (and GSW as an assistant), and Griffin for the 76ers, Cavs, and Pistons (and Magic as an assistant.)

I know you're sad that after proclaiming for a whole bunch of pages on this thread that Boylen was going to be the coach prior to the Jazz leaking that he was no longer in the running, and that this must be a hit to your ego.

For the rest of us, we're just waiting until Randle never plays a minute at small forward so we can continue to point and laugh at your ongoing idiocy.

PS: Cut out the Kkkkkkkk stuff - it is as irritating as the rest of the content of your posts are misinformed.

Have you forgotten about the guy who had been interviewed by so many teams that the Jazz eventually felt compelled to hire?

Ty Corbin.

KOC's very words were "Ty is a very capable candidate, he had been interviewed for numerous HC jobs at X, Y, Z."

The point was not that they would be good coaches because people interviewed them, it's that your statement that nobody wanted to touch them was wrong because they wouldn't be getting interviewed otherwise.

You're right. Every assistant coach is going to be as bad as Ty Corbin when put in a position of head coach. We should just stop interviewing them altogether, draft Julius Randle, and hire you as our coach, Nick.

I wasn't advocating for any of their hires - I still want Messina or Blatt. I was merely pointing out that your statement "Cos no one else wants to touch these guys!!!" was a) wrong, and b) annoying due to the multiple exclamation marks.

Quietly one of the best posters here.

Read that. I'm going to be really pissed in a year or two when he gets a HC gig and pulls a Horny.

Unless it's with the jazz i guess.

But that would mean we'd have to be bad for a few more seasons which i am not interested in.

If Lindsey is half the man I hope he is, he is going to maneuver the press and the whisperings and the rumors until a majority of Jazz fans decide that candidate x is the best man for the job...so that when the Jazz finally announce it we will all feel smart and have confidence in the Jazz for making the right choice.

From the looks of this thread Lindsey has a lot of work to do.

If true, Jones as the mystery 4th candidate sure is a buzz-killer.

Agreed.

To cheer us up lets remember that whoever is hired wont be corbin :-)

Looks like we scratch Blatt off the list. He's apparently negotiating with Warriors to be an assistant coach under Kerr. Messina will probably sign to be Fisher's assistant in NY next.
