Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Unfortunately Perrin will be very tight lipped about how Gordon did. However if they do draft him I will be more confident since they got to see him against some live bodies and feel he's got what it takes.

I'd readily welcome AG as a Vonleh supporter if that's the route we go. I've said several times I like the kid, just has glaring flaws. If we take him and he works past them, I'll buy his jersey. If he doesn't I'll never let certain people hear the end of it.

And if Vonleh becomes an all-star, I'll be bumping some of my posts!

But I agree with you. If Lindsey, Perrin and Snyder pick Gordon over Vonleh, I'm ok with that. Gordon is right after Vonleh on my wish list. He fits our immediate needs a little better, but I just think Vonleh can be an elite talent at the 4.

I would be ok with either Gordon or Vonleh. I prefer Gordon but it is a real small margin. Mostly because I think Gordon can play the three. If the Jazz had only one PF than I would go with Vonleh.

Reports say that Payne shot the ball really bad, but Jazz aren't too concerned because they know that he can shoot it.

Also PJ Hairston will be working out tomorrow.

@TJonessltrib The Jazz were very impressed by Aaron Gordon's workout this afternoon

@TJonessltrib Walt Perrin said Gordon is much improved skill wise than he was at this time last year

@TJonessltrib Walt Perrin said Gordon's enthusiasm impressed him and the fact that he's in shape and the altitude didn't weigh on him

Sounds like the Jazz like him.

Also work out tomorrow will include:

Cleanthony Early
Glenn Robinson III
Xavier Thames
Kendrick Perry
C.J. Wilcox

Some interesting names.

I like Aaron Gordon, but I just have a nagging feeling that #5 is too high to pick him. We'll see.

I'm kind of hoping it happens. I promise to renounce my Jazz fandom and stop my posting here if AG's the pick.

Over just one pick?
You're a solid poster, PG_AB. I've enjoyed your analysis of different players, especially those projected to go lower in the draft and who aren't as well known to all of us.

Don't renounce your Jazz fandom. I've was a Vonleh supporter before teh combine, but if DL and the others feel Gordon (or Smart or whoever) is a better fit, then I will support them and the team.

Nah its not just one pick, Trey last year has some to do with it.

I followed Kanter and Burks to the Jazz and wanted to root for players I like, theres still penty of them here but if AG's the pick i'm probably going to follow Noah to a different bottom feeding team. Ill wait to see the dust settle from the draft, but even if the Jazz draft 2 of my favorite players at 23 and 35, ill still be gone if Gordons the pick.

I was a DIE HARD knicks fan, id watch every game during 20 win seasons, When the Knicks took Gallinari over Brook Lopez i was so angry at the team i dont think i ever was able to forgive them, I'd feel similarly if Gordon is the pick.

While I would also be disappointed if we took AG over Noah I would be OK with it if thats what DL and the FO decides. I think Noah is going to be the real deal, not so sure that Gordon well ever get to the level of potential that a lot of guy here do.

That's a great group of players to work together. I'm a big fan of both Early and Wilcox. I'd be happy with either of them ending up in Utah in that late 1st/early 2nd round range.

Who did you want the Jazz to pick last year?

I liked Shabazz, Schroder, MCW, Mason Plumlee, Gobert and was the only advocate i can remember on this board for Tim Hardaway Jr. at 21.

(I liked Hardaway Jr. over Trey... posters in the draft thread were saying he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick, IIRC)

assuming the Gobert trade, if i had the chance to re-select those picks 14 and 21 after the draft it would have been

Shabazz or Schroder at 14, id have probably staken Shabazz though. At 21 Plumlee was a no-brainer to me. My first course of action in Free agency would have been to offer Jeff Teague near 40 mil over 4 years ( I was posting this stuff, its not revisionist history)

I agree. Really liked his interview

I like him a lot. It'll be interesting to see how the draft unfolds. Since Embiid and Wiggins both seem to be out of the picture, my top two guys are Parker and Gordon. I'd be ecstatic with getting either guy.
