why so many of you giving up on Burke? He is our future PG, period!

i love his mental make up. he will be one of those tough little dude who will just get better. we don't need him to be the star. we need him to be the glue guy, a guy who control the pace, and make our future stars better.

we need him to be d fish with little bit of mike conley. that's all we need. and i think trey can be that guy. shooting will come too. historically a great FT shooter always get better in fg%.

I'd take Burke over Felton, Brandon Knight, Jarrett Jack, Shaun Livingston, Kendall Marshall, Collison. They all started 30+ games.

Same class as Beverly/Lin, Oladipo, Brian Roberts, Nate Wolters, Avery Bradley.
 
Exum's size gives the Jazz some options, he should be able to play the 2 and on days where Burke is getting eaten alive by some of the bigger PG's we can use Exum's size on the defensive side. I don't think drafting Exum is the end of Burke.

I'm not in love with Burke or Exum. Burke showed signs last season but I don't believe he is the answer. He seems really immature.

I would draft Aaron Gordon then package Burke and try to land Rondo or Westbrook.

A guy can dream...

trey is just a serviceable pg which ceiling is a 1st round playoff exit

i don't want to say that this is bad, because for a lot of people even this can be a reason for excitement

I think it stems mostly from the Jahmel Binnion incident. I know he apologized but it never should have happened. I also question his shot selection. At times it seemed as if he was worried about his own stat line as opposed to running a team.
 
The Exum love is no knock on Trey, it's based on the simple assumption that he may be BPA. When you suck - which we do - you go BPA, period. Especially when alternative picks (Vonleh, Gordon, or Smart) don't fill any sort of immediate need.

If Exum is a better PG than Burke, and he's the BPA, you take him and let the chips fall where they may.

How you can tell when only game he played vs somewhat NBA level athletes ( team USA in U-19 ) he lasted 11 min before ( 0 ast/4 TO) being buried on the bench for good?

I agree. Maybe Exum and Burke can work. It's possible.

I just personally dont know enough about Exum to get me excited, or believe in him.
If we go that route the organization better be right.

Right now I like Gordon more.

Slowed down the offense for everyone
Undersized
Below average speed
Doesn't play defense (or maybe he can't, that's a good debate)
Doesn't shoot well
And doesn't set his teammates up very well

Ok how can you say he doesn't set he teammates up well? He lead the team in apg and wasn't the primary ball handler the majority of the season.

And saying a guy doesn't shoot well yet ignoring his finger injury is completely disingenuous. How many players you know can shoot well with an injury like that to their shooting hand?

He slowed down the offense so Hayward could be the primary ball handler in the half court.

So how does Exum compares? Trey outsprinted Exum in combine - means Exum is worse than below average speed according to your logic? Trey has elite assist to TO ratio and free throw shooting, Exum - below average. Trey at least shot 33% from 3 in NBA range.... Exum could not even do it on FIBA range 3pts. Trey was clutch in numerous games in NBA, Exum failed to deliver in medal game closing minutes in FIBA U-19. All Exum has on Trey is length.
