Best part is we keep Burks. I could give two ****s about 23rd pick. But a perimeter rotation of Burke, Burks, Hayward, and Wiggins could be nasty.

@theMontyShow
#NBA Source told me the #Jazz are close on a deal with the Cavs for Favors, #5 & #23 ...also talk to Bucks who seem to be firm at #2

@themintyshow
I am also told the #Jazz seem to be hesitant to deal next years picks, they feel Favors #5 & #23 is more than enough to make a deal

Unfamiliar with who that is. Also don't know if someone already posted this. Twitter says it's 38mins old

Consensus around the internet [from non-Jazz fans] is that Derrick would easily be a 4-6 pick in this year's draft, so this is akin the Jazz offering 4, 5, and 23 for #1.

With Embiid out the picture, this is a top 3 draft so Orlando's 4 no longer trumps Jazz 5, and Favors + 23 is worth more than Afflalo and #12.

College Derrick would be but four year, limited offense, passive Derrick, knowing what we know now, would probably go around 7-8 imo. With these rookies, there is a lot of hope that they really develop. Derrick's development, at this point, seems much more limited.

To me, and not that it's hugely different, it's more like offering 5 + 8 + 23 for 1 which is too much imo.

I stand by letting the Cavs take their guy and hoping Embiid falls to 5 where we snag him and try to get the wheels turning on the 3 team trade with the Kings that I fleshed out yesterday.

I can see Favors in the 3-4 range of this draft for sure. I wouldn't take Exum or Embiid for him.

3+5+23+(next year's 1st?) sounds like a lot for #1, but the value of a #1 pick varies so much from draft. Last year it would have been laughable. This year I would pull the trigger.

But if CLE likes Favors, I think Favors+5+23 should get it done. Kid's still 22, man. He's a damn nice big man.

When did the Jazz move up to get #4?

I couldn't do that easily. What if OKC didn't have their pick in Durants first year? No westbrook.

Not saying it's not a big asset to give up. But if giving up next year's pick is the cost for getting our Durant (i.e., Wiggins) I do it.

What if injuries cause Utah to win 25 games again. Or what if they win 40, but win one a top-3 pick in the lottery? You have to at least put SOME protection on the pick. I'd make it top-5. But in that case, it's the 2015 pick and NOT the #23. Can't have both.

Throw in the 2015 pick, and then trade #23 for someone's 1st round pick next year (with very low protection). That way we're not out of the 2015 first round entirely.

Will it be Wiggins or

"Oh, he put Parker's head on Jabba the Hut, that's kinda funny."

"... He mentions it in his sig too, well that may be overdoing it, but whatever."

"He makes a lame joke on his location too? God damn this guy is really committed to this pretty lame joke."

"Now he's posting pictures of fat dudes to represent Parker? Jesus, **** this guy."

The guy tweeting this stuff is "Monty," the morning host, on KFNZ 1320. This was the main Jazz affiliated station until the Jazz switched everything and bought 1280 which is where Locke, Gordon Monson, David James, etc. all switched to.

Monty came over last year to do the show with Gunther (ex-Utah football player/host). They didn't seem to work too well together and split to separate shows on the same station. Monty came from the San Francisco area and has only been in Utah for under a year I think so who knows who his sources are. They might not even be Utah based.

I think this guy saw all the attention Spence was getting and decided to jump into the fun. I do think they have the parameters of a deal done and it will depend on who is available at 5. I think if Exum or Embiid is available we will have a deal. If it is Vonleh and Gordon I don't think the Cavs will bite.
