Their children would only be moderately more likely to be gay, from what I have read. The children on each island would have a vast majority of straight people, and some gay people.

Why would you have a problem with me saying the main purpose of reproduction organs is for reproduction, or the main purpose of a heart is to move blood, or the main purpose of a colon is to help, or allow, waste to be out of the body? Is that not science?

I don't have a problem with you saying that, but it is not science. Organs and organ systems have functions (lists of things that they do), but not purposes (lists of things they are supposed to do). Within a population, functions change over eons.

Where did you learn your science if you think that is religion?

I have been reading in science all my life, and recently have dipped into the philosophy of science.

Even Darwin would laugh at someone who stated the main purpose of sex in humans is not reproduction.

1) Why does it matter what random non-scientific observations Darwin would make? Do you seem him as a holy figure?
2) I suggest you should not speculate on what Darwin would or would not laugh at.
3) Hypothetically, I claim that the primary purpose of sex is the creation of small groups of emotionally commited people. Now, try to show I'm wrong, scientifically.

By the way, there are far more species of living things that separate the transfer of genetic material from reproduction than have them in the same act. So, any claim the primary purpose of sex is reproduction needs to surmount that hurdle.

Which phrases gave you trouble? Do you know what species are? What it means to transfer genetic material? Did the "than/that" typo confuse you?

Nature doesn't intend anything. Many sort of species produce individuals who are functional without reproducing. In fact, in a large number of species, the non-reproducing members are more than 95% of the population.

How sad for you. I do plan on changing my mind. I don't know when, why, or about what, but I'm fairly sure that sometime in the next ten years I will have changed my mind on 1 to 3 different things that I discuss regularly.

Human sexual preference is a continuum. Gay people have been marrying straight people, and having children with them, for generations. There is no reason to think they couldn't have children on an island.

I hope it is the language barrier.
We are all people, no matter what situation we are in, or what we choose to believe.
There should be more respect from both sides on this touchy subject.

If they are passing all needed qualifications, and are still gay are you against them being in the military?

You are throwing affirmative action into this arguement. Is that really the problem here? Soliders have to meet a certain standard. That should not
