Jazz players at the World Cup

Thing I noticed from the box score is that Croatia's backup center played as good a game as anyone on the floor (scored 20). Was any of that due to Gobert? Who was guarding Tomic more throughout the game -- Mahinmi or Gobert? Tomic had a pretty forgettable game (box score wise).

Gobert and Mahinmi usually did't play together. Whoever was on the court was guarding the opposing center, whoever that happened to be at that particular time. Gobert didn't start the game, while Tomic did, so if I had to guess Mahinmi and Pietrus were guarding him more. Gobert gave up several and-1s vs Zoric(the second Croatia center) and France's coach was not happy with him, he was screaming at him during some of the time outs. He was over-committing on some double teams and traps and was slow defending some of the pick and rolls, and was left out of position to defend his man after the roll. In the last quarter though everything seemed to click for Gobert, he seemed more focused and was defending the p'n'r much better, even his offensive game picked up and I think he was one of the key players to France's victory in the last quarter.

Great insight. Thanks!

Re: Exum's conditioning. Did he ever say why he seems so out of shape? Because he mentioned he was conditioning in L.A. leading up draft. Then he goes through a summer league process, which should have helped him in that regard, but doesn't sound like that's the case by what you guys said seeing him play today. I guess I just don't understand how he is going to get conditioned if he has been working out for months and months and there is no visible progress there. Maybe he's just super stressed out or something and that's zapping his energy.

There's being 'fit' and there's being 'game fit'.

Dante really loves his jersey! The longer he stays on court the more he loves it! He doesn't want to let go of it!

After the Brazil's win in Rio, Argentina beat Brazil today at home. 85x80 The 4th point guard starts today .. Rafael Luz. And he was much better than Raul Neto.

Raul with two bad turnovers early in the game .. I think he will be cut for the World Cup. It's not good for him.

Here the box score: https://www.fibalivestats.com/matches/16/12/41/56/86UrMMeO3T3pY/

Great game Nene, Barbosa and Splitter.. Brazil is a amazing team.

Haven't really been following the last couple weeks.

In case it hasn't been posted before:

My Lithuanian has gotten so much better :D

Exum much more active/aggressive early in this game, driving, rebounding and finishing. The injury scare seems to have lit a fire under him.

He's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with the ball in his hands and attacking! I really wish he was more aggressive more consistently.

That's exactly my take on it. He's one of those guys that just needs to be given the opportunity with the ball and he'll produce. Seems like he needs a clearly defined role to really own it and grow into it.

I still think this arrangement with Burke is a distraction and bad news.

Damn, how does he see and more importantly how does he execute those passes! He's made 2-3 passes already in traffic where I'm like "WTF is he doing?" until I see the pass reach the intended recipient with great precision...
