It's More Than Us Jazz Fanz that Want Neto Now!

I think Neto is about on Burke's level now but what is the hurry?
We have his rights and unlike Tomic, Neto seems to like Utah and wants to come play here eventually.

Argentina won a gold medal in the Olympics didn't they?
Argentina NT is always a formidable opponent.

@RudyGobert15

If I was DL, I'd be looking to trade Trey before the deadline. Dante's strengths are all in his PG skills, and forcing him to play off the ball could be bad for his confidence/ development. Trey's value might never be higher, and he wouldn't be happy backing up a rookie (not that Dante is ready to start). Neto, however, would be an ideal backup to Dante in 2015-16.

@Euroleague

@sportando

^ another very nice shooting night from Neto.

Neto is a lot of fun to watch. That's the key thing for me. I just really like the way he plays and how he can just get that ball to stick to his hands when it has no business staying there.

Not if Corbin felt that the team was sabotaging him and so he insisted that the Jazz get the guy he wanted. If felt (from watching the games) that Burke was the only young guy that Corbin was willing to give time to as a rookie.

Did you not watch Lucas and Tinley? Who else was Corbin going to play at the point once Burke was healthy enough to play?

Neto was GREAT yesterday, the numbers and the highlights don't tell the whole story. Brazilian starting PG and captain(Marcelo Huertas) has been horrible all tournament, his defense was always non-existent, but now he's struggling on offense too, so most of the times it looks like Brazil is playing 4 against 5. Neto coming in and having a great game was HUGE for the win, especially because he's not a liability on defense like Huertas. Before the game there was a rumour that Neto would start for Brazil, but Coach Magnano decided to start his captain.

On a more Jazz related news about Neto: His body and athleticism have improved a lot since last year, he's stronger, faster and jumping higher. His jumpshot is still a work in progress, as he can be very inconsistent with it, especially the 3pt shot (he has a better mid-range game). Neto also controls the pace and has a high Basketball IQ. He could talk a little more on the court, being more loud leading his teammates, but i guess it will come with time and experience. Defensively he improved a lot too, getting a lot of deflections and steals, but still struggles against explosive guards one on one. He's also a really good passer and playmaker. All in all, he is playing like the best PG in the Brazilian NT and should be the starter already, but i doubt Coach Magnano will bench Huertas.

Last thing. Jonathan Tavernari, former BYU, twitted those>

@For3JT

@franfraschilla and they told him this summer "We might have a spot for you next year. This year we're set."

@utahjazz told @RaulTogni "Develop some more. Maybe next year." Wish I was in Utah to hear @975Hans @ScottyG1280 talk about this tomorrow..

Looks like the Jazz were never really high on Neto, and that's probably why he didn't play SL and signed a 3 year contract in Spain.

We could have had MCW if it wasn't for Corbin.

That's just ridiculous. Everyone in the league had Burke rated higher then MCW. So don't say it's Ty's fault. And most everyone was so excited when we traded for Burks.

The Lindsay comment about Trey being Ty's is overblown. That said, Trey was the guy I wanted. I never saw him as an all-star PG but rather a guy who possibly would be borderline coach's selection but whose strengths happened to be exactly what we need(ed). I think he'll be fine. Many seem to not be able to occupy any area between the two ends of the spectrum, which leads to disappointment. I anticipate a lot of Exum buyer's remorse when some-guy-who-we-are-not-currently-cognizant-of-who-got-drafted-at-the-end-of-the-first-round puts up some promising highlights and fires up the fanwagon.

I think the Jazz are going to be patient with all three PGs they have. Burke still has to prove he can shoot in the NBA and his defense needs work. Exum needs to improve his jumpshot and his conditioning/body. Neto needs to get stronger and improve his jumpshot. I think the Jazz will see if Exum can be a starting PG in the league and if Burke wants too much money or his shooting doesn't improve then they move him or let him go. Exum steps in to start and Neto is brought over to be the backup. There is no need to rush the decision since no one is a setting themselves apart from the other two. I like Neto a lot and to say the Jazz aren't interested in him is ridiculous because they wouldn't have drafted him.

I wasn't that high on Burke. I would like to have said I was crazy about any players in that draft but I wasn't. I was intrigued with Schroeder and Giannas. I probably would have picked both of those guys over Burke simply because I wasn't a big fan of Burke. However, I am not as down on Burke as most Jazz fans seem to be. I don't care who eventually starts as long as one of these guys shows they are an obvious NBA starter.

Who do think you are, Orangello?

The feel for the game, understanding how to control/dictate tempo, etc. Not sure why you didn't include my last sentence in the quote considering it answered the question for you.

You don't include a "feel for the game" and "controlling/ dictating tempo" as "point guard attributes"?

I asked you to blow my mind and blow it you did.

Now you're just making sh## up. join us back on the reality train.

Perhaps attributes was wrong word choice. I was originally alluding to being able to dribble and pass.

I was thinking the Jazz would trade back and take Schroeder, then select Gobert with their 2nd pick. At least I got one of those right! Like you, I wasn't real high on Burke. But he was certainly worth the risk as the Jazz still ended up with the other two players they wanted (Gobert and Neto). I think Trey will be a low-end starter or a solid sub.

I agree...no need to rush. Exum is 1-2 years away from starting. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Burke starting for the next 1 1/2 years before a trade is pursued. It's nice to see Neto improving. He wasn't all that good in SL 2 years ago. But now he's showing flashes.
