They killed my son because he's black (Saratoga Springs)

It always depends on what they do in the heat of the moment. If the dude with the gun pointed it at cops or refused to respond while acting erratically he would likely get shot.

So this guy isn't a threat:

But this guy somehow is a threat worthy of killing him?

Why do I get the feeling that if this guy had been... Lighter... People would have just assumed he was a zoobee still high off the comicon in salt lake?

You should have job for salon.com for to share your Ricky Lake stories. PM babypeterzz for applications.

I believe the term you're looking for is "moron".

Because you're incapable of critical thinking.

Maybe the worst alt ever, but that's funny right there.

What happens in any moment is a reflection of the behaviors of previous moments.

Including the attitudes and beliefs of the individual perpetuated by a refusal to acknowledge societal progress along with the need for society to change.

Mom's first statement on the matter was race. What other attitudes towards cops did she teach her son in her home? Did they worship at the altar of Tupac and NWA? Did they pray everyday thankful that the cops hadn't killed them yet? Did the boy leave home everyday with an admonition from mom to stay away from the ****** hating cops no matter what?

Just last Friday, Wendell Pierce was on Bill Maher, and described an incident where he was almost shot by the police because he had his windows rolled up and his air conditioning on, and so couldn't hear the policeman whose gun was pointed at him.

White people can overestimate the degree of societal progress without penalty; black people can not.

You say that as if Tupac and NWA did not express views held by many as an accurate understanding of their world.

I still tend to avoid police when I can, based on how I and my friends were treated growing up. It doesn't need to be explicitly taught.

I looked it up.

In Utah you cannot conceal carry a "deadly weapon" without a permit. The way the law is written it depends on the circumstances. The prosecutor must prove that you were carrying it as a weapon.

example 1
Dude is stopped by the cops and they find a smiley(chain with a padlock) in his jacket pocket. They ask "What is this for?" he responds "For protection". He goes to jail.

example 2
Dude is stopped with 8" knife on his belt concealed by his jacket. Cops ask " What is this for?" he responds "I'm going fishing. I use it to gut fish." He goes fishing.

There are no specific restrictions. The restrictions have more to do with intent and plausible use.
Very creative examples. So does this mean the correct answer to carrying a three foot blade in a strip mall is, "I'm going to impress the manager at Panda Express"?

In his case, it may have been his answer. It was still open carry. What's your point?

Yeah, I'm really not getting the hysterics about his big scary sword when open and concealed carry of firearms is probably as common and accepted in Utah as it is anywhere else in the U.S..

I personally have no problem with him carrying the sword. Kinda cool actually and I'd have asked to see it.

My question, and one no one here has a factual answer to, is: what did he do with that sword?

That is a correct question.

If it had been a Hattori Hanzo sword the cops could not have stopped him.

But since that question hasn't been answered, I say we all just immediately blame the white cops.

Why American does have saying "everyonebrow hate cop until they need one"? Is these peoples not egalitarian to understand need for police? Maybe I do not understand writings but I read many here hate police like they might take to arms against so seeking justifications to incite riot like in Jefferson or where ever One Brow understands why black males are burning neighbors house to ground and break city into pieces.

This makes no sense for me.
