2014 College Football

I'm smart,

When talking fb I talk SEC.
When talking bb I talk UK.

U sure, Gramps?

I just meant that LSU is down this year, comparatively speaking.

This whole thing started with green claiming the SEC is overrated, citing various hilarity as reasons so.
it's so absurd it doesn't warrant any further discussion.. if it can even be called that. SEC is the most dominant conference, of any sport, in the world.. and it's not close.

UK dominating has nothing to do with the SEC. Florida had a solid 2 year stretch, and UK would be good even if they were in the Sun-Belt conference. Them being in the SEC does nothing to their credibility.

SEC has won 3 of the last 10 National Championships in basketball. Not sure how that stacks up to other conferences doe.

Because College Basketball doesn't rely on a retarded ranking system and is a way better constructed league.

Oh.. and you stopped at 2000. I wish you had reached around a little further.

1998 - UK
1996 - UK

The further we stretch back the time, the more the Pac-12 and ACC reign supreme over the SEC's total amount of championships.

It's a slippery slope if you're on team SEC tbh.

Doesn't take away from the fact that PKMoe labelled SEC as the dominant basketball conference "and it's not even close".

Again the one team at the top. And one of those titles came against another SEC team in an absolute farce. That game should never have been allowed, and may have been the downfall of the old system.
.
Not saying the winner of the SEC is not a great team. But they are not as far above other conferences as advertised and never play decent non-conference games on the road to prove they are the best. One thing I hope the playoff does is show how overrated they are. And expanded playoff would better show this though. I hope the committee see's around this and does not reward the SEC for playing scared. I don't think more than 1 SEC team should ever be included and I hope the committee see's it the same way.

They've stated that conference championships will weigh heavily on their decision. I think the only way a second Sec team gets in is if Georgia and MSU meet in the SEC Championship and Georgia upsets them in a close game. They may also need either the Big 12 or Pac 12 to cannibalize itself as well. ie Oregon loses one more but wins the Pac 12 ship game.

No wonder you're failing school. I said exactly the opposite of your argument. I said UK basketball (not claiming the conference) and SEC football (not claiming UK).

UK is the #1 cbb team of all time. Period. I only use the SEC when talking fb.

Nope. I didn't, bub.
DaliBro layin the beatdown.
lol

Honestly, the SEC should just absorb the entire Pac-12 and use them as our Freshman league roster, kind of like JV in HS. That way we can get rid of inferior non-SEC football. They play over there in 2nd-rate football country for a year, then come to the promise land to play real football.

PKMoe: SEC is the most dominant conference, of any sport!!!!

*Dalabro checks facts*

*SEC hasn't won't the most championships in the past 10 years*
*or the past 20 years*
*or all-time*

PKbro: Ya, but, uhh, UK!!!!

oh, and one more time, for posterity:

Okay, fair enough.. but what I meant by that is that SEC football is the most dominant conference (including any sport...).

I simply wouldn't argue the same for SEC bb. So I worded it ambiguously. Here's your dilly anyway.

Pretty sure the only super low scoring SEC game this year has been the LSU/Ole Miss game. Defense is kind of important dawg. Probably the #1 reason why people tend to think (know) the SEC is way better, we play defense.

Funny thing is that Utah is trying to mimic SEC style of football right now by playing a very conservative passing game while featuring a dominant RB and a good defense. They would be about an Arkansas level team in the SEC.

Utes play defense. They da best?

Truth is every other conference could combine in an attempt to gang up on the SEC.. and the SEC would still **** m up.
