What's new

Jazz claim Joe Ingles and Jordan Hamilton off waivers.

No it's not. We are talking about Euroleague level here. Sorry but you're talking from the typical NBA high-horse. Ingles is a well known talent who proved himself to be not maybe a star but a very beneficial player on multiple high levels. Now, he's gonna try to make it in the NBA.

From your point of view, Diamantidis or Spanoulis are worse PGs than all NBA PGs.

Possibly, there have been some EuroLeague stars who couldn't cut it in the NBA and moved back to Europe. Rudy Fernandez comes to mind, and he was someone with NBA level athletic ability.

He is longer, that's a fact, so not going to argue it. Not saying he can use it or anything else but, I'm hundred percent sure that Hayward won't add inches to his wingspan anytime any soon.

The cuts; it's arguable, I've seen many cuts from Hayward the three years I've watched him, he has it. But they were never natural as Ingles can do. To me, it's that way, you can see the other way, I respect that. It's subjective.

Dynamic shooting; well, every basketball player(most players at least) has his own unique thing that they can do very well. For Ingles, this is it. The guy has a good shooting balance and can really shoot the ball off the balance, like while running, after dribble or while leaning sideways. How good is Hayward at these? He even struggled with his spot up shooting for a long time.

I don't know what did I say to get such a strong objection from you but to assure my viewpoint, I will state that I in no way think that Ingles is as good a player as Hayward is. Not even close. If my Hayward Lite phrase made you think that I think that way, forget about it. Gordo is the better player by miles in any kind of comparison.

But you said, let's be honest. I was and still am honest with the things I said.

He may be longer then Hayward, but Hayward plays longer then Ingles, and quicker and more athletic. I'm betting Hayward is a better shot blocker and better at getting steals, and in one on one defense Hayward has a better impact, so it doesn't matter that Hayward is shorter

Take it easy on him ECTYA. Cy's probably watched no more than 3 Euroleague games in his entire life.

Like I said, typical.

Fact: NBA is a more athletic game and less athletic players who can succeed in the Euroleague can have trouble adapting to the point where they can't do **** in the NBA.

Fact: basketball talent is not black and white, and athletic talent does not equal better talent.

Who are the "athletic" specimens on the Spurs?

Where did I say it matters? Read again please [Not saying he can use it or anything else but.. ]

And where did I say Ingles is better shot blocker, better at getting steals, has better defensive impact etc etc. If anything, I tried not to trigger posts like this by stating that he is not even close to Hayward overall as a player.

The dudes on the Spurs are plenty athletic.

I didn't say you have to be an athletic specimen to play in the NBA. I just said non-athletic players who have had success in lower leagues can have trouble translating their game to the NBA and can end up not amounting to ****, so to say they are automatically better than an established NBA baller is insulting (especially better than Hayward at shooting, lol).

Guarantee you that 80% of the time when a talented Euro-player busts in the NBA, it's because he has a garbage coach who doesn't know how to use him. Not because 'he lacked the athletic talent'.

Exhibit A: look at what happened to Boris "no-athleticism" Diaw after he left the Suns, and before he joined the Spurs.

It took Popp to realize that Boris had the skills to completely ****-up the Heat-- which he did.

Boris Diaw was a fat piece of **** who refused to work hard on teams that weren't winning. He tries on teams that are in a playoff/championship race and has booked his flights back to Paris to eat cheese on bad teams.

I wouldn't blame that on bad coaching, I would blame it on Diaw's lack of competitive drive when surrounded with a sub-par team.

Was just pointing that regardless of the fact that he's longer, it's pointless to say because Hayward plays like he's much longer then Ingles.

thee has the IQ of a peanut, ignore him.

Not nearly among the NBAs elite, in terms of starting lineups. Probably close to the bottom of the league, actually.

Keyword is can, here. This is a loose correlational statement, and there's no causal element to it whatsoever.

It's more insulting that: a) you act like a a Euroleague player can't be better AT ANY SKILL than an NBA player just because the NBA dude starts on a team; and b) you act like you know Ingles's talent repertoire completely to the point where you can dismiss claims on his talent, when ECTYA has seen more Ingles games than you've seen MSU football games.

You are insulting yourself by distorting my words. Who the hell did say Ingles is better shooter than Hayward. I talked about a small part of shooting spectrum.

And if you really think I have insulted Hayward. Then I can't do anything but lol literally. You're possibly high or something right now.

Got to prove it on the court, until it happens then he has nothing on Hayward at all.

I would concede a lot of Euros probably have some skills on Hayward, but I'm not going to do it for Ingles, a guy who plays the same position, is around the same size, and is 1/4 as athletic and talented as Hayward.

Chicken or egg argument. Article after article has been published about how Diaw has struggled with finding coaches who know how to find a proper role of him on the team, because his game is so un-American. Read up young-blood.

I'd be 100% on board with dumping Murry for Gal Mekel.

One Shocker for another. Still a happy homer here. I'd still say Murry gives you more versatility than Mekel, but the decision would probably be more a practice thing hopefully...
