What's new

Down with cj

Ya i'm sure aks -11 and d wills -11 really helped us. Especially with d will shooting 4-13. Our whole team sucked.

Funny how when CJ is part of a larger losing effort the argument is "everyone sucked" and when he just does poorly the argument is "everyone has a bad game". And his good games are just too far apart.

I have seen enough bad games from him, time to find out what Hayward can do.

I think everyone did play bad. Lots of turnovers by the whole team and lots of players were walking around. Cj sucked, williams sucked,al,etc they all sucked.

Watson played well though. He looked the only one who wanted to win.
Raja "Smelled" real bad. He looked like he was single handedly trying to lose the game for the Jazz with all his missed open shots. He is just anonymous in games.
Start Hayweird instead of Raja and make Raja and assistant coach or something since he is good with pep talks.

Well CJ was benched in the 2nd-half (until less than a minute remained) in favor of Gordon Haywood. He did play awful in the 1st-half (missed a wide-open 3 and then lost the ball out-of-bounds on a crossover) but it's not like the Jazz were much more successful with CJ on the bench either - unless you call cutting a 9-point deficit to 11 successful.

Yes indeed, and we all know how often Raja and Ronnie P can shoot us back into a game. But this is the Jerry Sloan Reform School for First Rounders and Other Jackpotters, so he got his lesson last night. If ya gotta take a loss to enforce your code, so be it, eh?

Can't argue with this.

Being a new poster who has read the posts for awhile, I'm kinda confused by the CJ threads. First he was junk, then he was the second coming of Adrian Dantley, and now he sucks again. Sounds a little schitzo ....

Actually it has split into 3 camps. The one camp believes he is still the second coming of...well, someone (Jordan, Dantley, James, whatever). The second camp believe he is garbage has always been garbage and has not chance to ever be anything but garbage. The third falls somewhere in between and is the smallest of them (at least that are vocal about it). We believe he could be good, but that his potential is just not panning out and it is taking him longer than we need him to develop. Personally I think he has had a shot and it isn't working. He shows flashes of greatness in between stretches of mediocre to crappy play. I would love to see him turn into something even relatively approximating that reincarnation they talk about, but I don't want us to rest on our laurels with the mantra "just give CJ more time...more minute...another year or two...he will be THE ONE when that happens".

Wrong.

2 camps.

1 - Those of us who thought CJ had potential to be a good player, and predicted his salary,(which, by the way is a bargain) would be worth it.

2 - Logradd, who only comes around to say I told ya so, even though CJ has been an overall success, without a doubt.

You obviously haven't been around the forums very long, or on the previous board, and you obviously haven't read any of my posts about CJ. But that's ok, as long as you visit the real world long enough from time to time to pay your taxes, it's all good.

CJ had a nice game tonight, at least from the box score (working game nights sucks). 6 of 11 is good. 4 TO is not great, but he filled up the stat line other than that pretty nicely.

Here is a post for you from another thread about CJ. Sums up my position on him fairly well.

I would love to see us package CJ in a deal to bring a better wing here. That is no secret. I would like to see us go after Gerald Wallace, who was rumored to be on the block. Wouldn't mind Hedo as he was also rumored. There have been others too. Obviously would have to be a package deal.

But I would also like to see us bring someone in to play alongside CJ and help him develop as a wing. Maybe he needs time with Hornacek to develop consistency, who knows. I would be ecstatic to have CJ if he were not our ONLY WING capable of doing anything. CJ is pretty good. He is a nice guy. I would be happy to have him on our team as long as he is not the one we are relying on for 6th man duties like carrying the load scoring or leadership-wise. He might be one day but we have said that for a long time now. It would be ideal to get him a mentor, and us a better wing at the same time.

Tell me where the "I told you so" or the hate is in that?
