What's new

GM #9: 11/12/2014 - Utah Jazz(3-5) @ Atlanta Hawks(3-3) [5.30 PM MDT, 7.30 PM ET and 1.30 AM CET]

-These are exactly the types of games Hayward has had over the years. You have to bring it every night. 11 pts isn't going to cut it.

-Exum is starting to fade into rookie land on this trip.

-Burks was boss tonight. I'd love to see more consistency out of him.

-Kanters and Favors carried us tonight, but each had mistakes if we are looking for reasons for the loss.

-Trey's shot will come. When you are getting 11 dimes a night you are helping the team.

Lol Rev9 negged me for no reason with the line "Your lover boy sucked tonight"

We got a Hayward hater.

Hayward also found Kanter and Burks for wide open 3's in the final 4 minutes of the game. Both missed shots. Hayward's fault.

Hawks commentators were suprized about Jazz offense, not going through Kanter in the post more, for the last minutes of the game. Kanter could have easily dropped 30 today and Utah would have won.

I just didn't understand some of the coaches decisions down the stretch. Tough loss.

Oh well. GO JAZZ!!!!

Pretty much how I have felt every game.

I like Snyder the offensive coordinator. Not sure how I like Snyder the in-game manager.

NBA , regardless of coaching, still comes down to made shots.

We didn't. On a nite when Hayward was cold, we will probably not win.

Heck, he was 0-3 from the FT line.

Late time out during that last Hawks run
Having Hayward inbound the ball on the last play
Players shooting repeated long Js when they struggled to score instead of getting to the rim.

Good learning game and I hope everyone takes it and tries to improve. Still thrilled with the coach and this team.

Also comes down to not taking your best player out of the game in the 2nd quarter with 6 minutes left, which sparked a 20-8 run for the Hawks, ruining our huge lead.

Also, the decision not to foul with 27 seconds left on the clock?

We aren't good enough of a defensive team, nor have we rebounded well enough, to take that risk. Hawks aren't even that good of a FT shooting team outside of Korver.

Agreed.

The part of Haywards game I was surprised at is why he didnt take it to the hole more, especially when his shot was off.

We had that game won, players just could not finish it out. Only saw a little of the end, but we clanked some shots for sure. Sounds like Favors kind of went dumb at the end too. Hard to blame the coach for that too much.

Yep. This is an unacceptable error that too many coaches make. Similar to college football coaches who attempt a 47 yard FG on 4th and 2 from the 30 yard line when their kicker's career long is 42. It's not the right decision so much as it's the avoid criticism decision.

Hayward had two fouls and probably should have had three if not for a blown charging call by the refs. Debate-able as to whether or not to sit him that long; but it wasn't without reason either

Burke, Exum and Burks were trying to get to the rim but Atlanta was playing way off of them. Daring them to shoot and make jumpers. Burks made several but not enough.

Their gameplan was built around shutting down Hayward.

Well then their game plan sucked because Hayward got at least a half dozen good looks that didn't go down.

Jazz owned the paint on both ends of the floor. Hawks couldn't stop the drive and dish all night long. I would have like to see them continue going that way; but Hayward's been a beast - you can't kill them for going to that well one more time.

Just woke up to my 1st neg rep ever coming from this thread. I guess it's like a technical, you need one every now and then to keep it real.
