Wow! CJ looked so damned good against a team destined for the #1 lottery pick. The Cavs pretty much don't win road games this year, at all, but that's not stopping you all from busting a load in your pants over one good performance. Even Troutbum capitulated? Cumown Man! Let's see CJ shoot good against good teams with good defense before busting out the tartar sauce. He'll vanish again faster than Dutchjazzer's reputation.
Ooh, he's up to 23rd on the list of 6th MOTY.
he's now CJSJ

It's been over for long before this thread was started. Just some on here to big of haters to admit it.
Actually, he is B.J. Smiles.
Saying you are completely satisfied with CJ and feel he is exactly what we need and there is no need to try to upgrade at his position is tantamount to saying you are very happy with 1st or 2nd round playoff exits every year because a playoff appearance is "solid" and "productive". If CJ is our best wing we need to get way better at other positions to make up the shortfall. Wow how can everyone be so blind. I am very glad CJ is performing better. He needs to because the Jazz just won't do anything to take a risk to get better at his position. And since he is what we have we might as well cheer him on. But to do so trying to convince yourself that he is the 6th man of a contending team is like trying to convince yourself that Palin would have made a great vice president. So color me tickled that he is doing better the past few games, and also that I hope they make some kind of move or take a risk to get better. Because we won't go far anytime soon otherwise.
I am satisfied with where he is at. It would be great to get a better player at every position but that does not mean we can not be satisfied with the production the players we have are giving us. To me the need for a different scorer off of the bench is not a primary concern right now. We need our starting lineup to figure out how not to get behind so often far more than that. And we also need to figure out how to get rebounds far more than that.
So your statement about what I said and your pitiful comparison is laughable . I said nothing close to what you are trying to claim. There is middle ground It's not one thing or the other. I am satisfied with what CJ gives us off of the bench and think we have far more pressing issue's.
Here is a clue for you. Right now CJ is the 6th man on a very good team. They would probably be a contending team if the starters would show up more often in the 1st quarter of games.
You are right, he is 6th man on a good team right now. And the starters certainly carry their share of any blame that might be out there to be passed around. I just don't get why CJ gets a pass on his performance so often. And as I said, something needs to change. Either the starters show up once in a while, or we shake up the starting line-up (heck try starting CJ instead of Bell), or we try to orchestrate some kind of trade. Otherwise we will remain what we have been for 20+ years...a very good also-ran. It would be great to simply get the performance out of the team as presently constituted. Would love to see CJ seriously in contention for 6th MOTY. If not, then I would like to see the FO take a risk to get over the hump.
As we stand we are a 2nd round team, without something changing. Don't care what, but somethings gotta be different. It just gets old how often CJ gets a full-out pass because he is young or still developing or "solid and productive" for 2-3 out of 5 games at a time. He is just as suspect as everyone else if we want to be true contenders.

When does CJ ever get a pass on his performance? Fans bash him even when he's having a good game. Sloan sat him down a few games ago in favor of a rookie who is far worse than him. He has not gotten a pass from the fans or coach of this team since he got here. He's still on the team and playing because he's made himself a good player. And this year he is still getting less minutes than a player he is out playing in Bell. So again when has CJ ever gotten a pass from the coaching staff or fans.
3 good games in a row now. 60% from the field and 42% from 3. And the Knicks are a good team. And Houston's not a bad defensive team.
You should consider a career in apologetics. Not much money, if any, but you'd be good.
38 pages and 38%...must be an omen.
CJ's only hope is for us to get this up to 50 pages.

Sorry, but you represent the large number here who have insisted that CJ would never be solid, would never be productive, would never be valuable. He has proven you wrong, so get off his case. Those of us who supported him have never said he was going to be an All-Star or the next DWade, just that he had a lot of talent and it would eventually come together, as he obviously has.
