Gobert should start

his hands are really worrying. There have been moments where his hands seem fine, and others where they look a LONG way from fine.

I think we trade Favors. I know how unpopular that is.. but we need bait that yields and Favors doesn't give us any real advantage in the game. Gobert does.
Kanter won't get us ****.

Can we trade him for Thon Maker?

Insane improvement by Gobert. I'm really not sure how you keep him out of the starting lineup.

I disagree. Our offense thrives when we get stops on defense and can run and Rudy makes that happen more then any player on the team. I'm 100% in favor of starting Rudy and Favors, and brining Enes in with Booker for a scoring punch off the bench.
Nice call. While far from a well-oiled machine, the Favors/Gobert pairing appears to have promise. Kanter will either come off the bench next year, or the Jazz will find a stretch-4 in free agency and renounce the rights to Kanter to sign him.

Whatever I said about Rudy not being ready to start, I take back. Just can't believe how different he looks from Oct 29th to today. These past three weeks have been a revelation.

On TV they posted that since Dec 17, the Jazz lead the league in fewest points allowed. That about coincides with Rudy getting more PT when favors went out for a couple of games. Yeah, the competition has been stellar but still.

I would find it a damn shame if we let Kanter walk.

Keep him? Meh.

But ya gotta figure out a way to get something back. He's a top 3 draft pick and definitely has (some) value. letting him walk for nothing after developing him for 3 years would be a tragedy.

This revuild will never end if we keep letting value walk away for nothing.

I agree that we definetely need to get something from Kanter, he is better in the boxscore than on the court.

Gobert is a beast, but why shouldn't a front duo of Favors - Gobert work? Just like yesterday vs the Wolves.

I agree that Favors has by far the most trade value we can get from any of our players, and that he is probably most replaceable/least unique in the starting lineup. But who should we trade him for? Would Karl Towns fit next to Gobert? There is not really a good shooting guard that would be available. I see the biggest needs as: 1. 3 and D wing 2. Stretch four

I wouldn't trade Favors until it becomes absolutely apparent that he and Gobert can't play together effectively. Or, until a James-Harden-like deal comes around.

I'm not interested in trading for another project big. We don't have time to wait for him to develop. We need to look to winning now.

If we were to trade Kanter and Favors, it should be to win now.

The problem is, the Jazz won't know until free agency begins if they can upgrade or not. If they strike out in free agency, Kanter is then the best option. I wouldn't consider it a dumb move if the Jazz extend the QO to Enes, then withdraw it if/when another player agrees to sign with Utah (like Millsap). I'd consider that kind of a scenario a trade instead of getting nothing for him. Just to risky to trade Enes right now for picks and be left scrambling for a big Utah may not be able to grab in the draft or free agency.

Thanks.

I've been saying for months that Rudy and Favors can work together simply because of how dominate we would be on defense. Slowly but surly the offense will come along with the two of them. If we can get two good shooters on the court with them we will be absolutely fine. Can you imagine how good of lineup this would be, Rudy, Favors, G-Time, Korver (or a top 10 3 points shooter), and a pg who shoots the ball even average?

Id love to see Kanter come off the bench as our 6th man and dominate 2nd strings, but I think he's just barley too good to be willing to do that and he will demand too much money in the offense to make that realistic.

I'm just not sure I trust DL to make a good decision regarding Kanter. He's shown that he isn't exactly adept with trades and contract extensions.

But if you can grab assets for him now I'd do it. I think Booker is fine enough for a 3 big rotation. Kanter would become very pouty in an off the bench role so I don't think that he will pan out if that is where the Jazz envision him. I am not sure you can have 3 above average starter quality bigs and keep them all happy.
