I think we trade Favors. I know how unpopular that is.. but we need bait that yields and Favors doesn't give us any real advantage in the game. Gobert does.
Kanter won't get us ****.

Can we trade him for Thon Maker?
Nice call. While far from a well-oiled machine, the Favors/Gobert pairing appears to have promise. Kanter will either come off the bench next year, or the Jazz will find a stretch-4 in free agency and renounce the rights to Kanter to sign him.I disagree. Our offense thrives when we get stops on defense and can run and Rudy makes that happen more then any player on the team. I'm 100% in favor of starting Rudy and Favors, and brining Enes in with Booker for a scoring punch off the bench.
Whatever I said about Rudy not being ready to start, I take back. Just can't believe how different he looks from Oct 29th to today. These past three weeks have been a revelation.Insane improvement by Gobert. I'm really not sure how you keep him out of the starting lineup.

I agree that Favors has by far the most trade value we can get from any of our players, and that he is probably most replaceable/least unique in the starting lineup. But who should we trade him for? Would Karl Towns fit next to Gobert? There is not really a good shooting guard that would be available. I see the biggest needs as: 1. 3 and D wing 2. Stretch four
I'm not interested in trading for another project big. We don't have time to wait for him to develop. We need to look to winning now.
If we were to trade Kanter and Favors, it should be to win now.
I would find it a damn shame if we let Kanter walk.
Keep him? Meh.
But ya gotta figure out a way to get something back. He's a top 3 draft pick and definitely has (some) value. letting him walk for nothing after developing him for 3 years would be a tragedy.
This revuild will never end if we keep letting value walk away for nothing.

The problem is, the Jazz won't know until free agency begins if they can upgrade or not. If they strike out in free agency, Kanter is then the best option. I wouldn't consider it a dumb move if the Jazz extend the QO to Enes, then withdraw it if/when another player agrees to sign with Utah (like Millsap). I'd consider that kind of a scenario a trade instead of getting nothing for him. Just to risky to trade Enes right now for picks and be left scrambling for a big Utah may not be able to grab in the draft or free agency.
