Following potential 2015 draftees

The best point guard available potentially in a trade at the moment I would say is Reggie Jackson and I think OKC would probably do a deal involving Jazz '15 pick + Exum/Burke since I don't think they can afford to keep him.

This is just such an overpay that I can`t really believe that you`re serious? Jackson could probably had for Kanter + Burke right now if we take back Perkins, and even that would be an overpay IMO.

To keep this point going, am I wrong here? I genuinely don't have all the info and am more thinking out loud here, but getting a kid that's 2-3 years away to go with Dante who's also 2-3 years away, puts us in a weird spot with the others contracts and best years.

Turning the page on the "building through the draft" portion of this rebuild seems the best bet to me. Using our assets more creatively than just straight up drafting guys can't happen forever. Sure, once we turn these into a vet, then you obviously continue to fill depth with the draft and hope to do well there but saying "in 2019 we should be really good..... Who the **** knows what happens between now and then?

LOL ... Bodhi asked for who we can get for our draft pick, I just gave you guys an option. If it's that easy to trade a draft pick for a legit stud of a player DL would have already done it.

So I'd like to who else you guys can come up with?

FWIW - I'd rather use the pick and take a punt on D'Angelo Russell than paying for Reggie Jackson, but that's just me.

But yeah, if you have an impatient owner I do think you could do worse than giving Reggie Jackson a chance to lead a young up and coming team. He's the only talented dynamic PG who's available in a trade right now. Put shooters around him, and may be see if OKC would throw in Lamb?

If we are willing to give up a 1st, Exum, and Burke.. we sure as hell better do better than Jackson.

This was my reaction... We trading for Westbrook with that package...

Brandon Knight's numbers are looking good as well.. and trending the right way. 45%fg, 40% from 3, 90% from the line. 5+ assists per game and 2/1 TO.

Jrue Holiday.. possibility?

I wouldn't trade our pick. I think we're further away than most people do. I'm not about to trade our very raw, talented rookie and a first rounder for somebody who probably isn't going to push us over the hump. Neither would trading our pick. Whoever we pick up in a trade isn't gonna get us over Curry & Thompson, or Durant & Westbrook...our best bet is to try to draft somebody that can be that player, or sign them in FA...I just don't see that player coming over in a trade. Cleveland tried that, and I would bet they are really regretting it.

Knight is a good player on a bad team, but I don't like how he runs a team. Doesn't have natural vision for a PG. Could potentially pair well with Exum tho.

Wouldn't trade our pick neither as I'm probably more patient than most regarding this. As PKM had alluded to Teague and Holiday are potential targets if we're going with that win now strategy.

Bodhi does have a point though because, remember, we won't have Favors & Hayward forever. If we don't get good soon they may one day get impatient & bolt through FA as well.

I'm really intrigued by this D'Angelo Russell guy though who's already averaging 18 & 5 in his freshman year playing in a tough conference, shooting 44% from 3's. He looks like the guy who could come in and help us straight away ala what Lillard did with POR. They took a punt drafting him (when there were questions about his PG abilities), and they won out.
