What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Saw foxcatcher.
I liked it but my wife thought it was too long and boring

My wife had never seen it before. Holds up pretty well.

I watched The Impossible last night. I really enjoyed it. My wife liked it but was disappointed that the family in the movie wasn't Spanish like the real-life family the movie is based on.

Horrible Bosses 2 was surprisingly ok. I laughed occasionally and didn't hate the parts I wasn't laughing. Chris Pine is becoming one of my favorite actors.

Boyhood.

Boring & tedious at times, but it is worth watching right til the end. Lots of great moments that I can relate to looking back at my childhood... (for better or for worse). Lots to ponder after the movie ended. "Where I was, where I am, where I'm heading".

Linklater had done some remarkable stuff, but this is somewhat of a landmark in movie-making.

Sorry but if it's just a ho-hum movie, it shouldn't win best pic simply because they filmed it over the course of 12 years. That's just remarkably dumb. There's nothing special about it other than being able to get the crew and cast together during that time.

Have you seen it? What did you think of it?

I haven't but I've heard fro others what you said, that it's just an okay movie in general.

It's a slow & steady meditation in human conditions so of course it's not gonna 'blow you' away.

You may think that the 12 year thing is a bit of a gimmick, but I thought about it and I think there is something that can be said about the consistency of following 1 actor for the duration of the 12 years. You are more invested in his development than a typical movie. You are intrigued by it.

Look, Linklater has always had superb with conception but been questionable in execution. This is no exception but it is much better than his previous offerings and I think the Academy is recognising that.

Everything I've heard is that people weren't all that intrigued simply because the lead just wasn't a very good actor. No intrigue there at all. Sort of monotone and boring.

PK

Bollywood movie. Starts off with cliché script and turns into an awesome conceptual debate for the fundamentals of existence and reason. Finished off really cool. Also, a fun movie to watch. There'll be moments to make you smile. Won't over-bore the **** out of you with too much dance and music. They stay at a decent level.

Recommended.
