Following potential 2015 draftees

Also, I've always wondered how UK recruits the bench scrubs. Are they just walk-ons and 2 star recruits who wanna hang out with NBA prospects, "play" for Coach Cal, get free gear, maybe win a ring, and get dunked on in practice? I guess they have to be good enough to practice, but not good enough to want to get playing time for a smaller school?

One other small thing.. Booker is quite young. He doesn't turn 19 until 4 months after the draft. Very young.

There are usually 8 - 10 elite guys. The rest are "Kentucky kids" that dream to 'play' for UK. They are content to be able to say they suited up for UK. We have, every year, more than 200 kids audition for walk-on status. It's highly competitive, actually, and Cal expects they push the guys in practice. Hope that helps.

Gotcha, that's interesting. Sounds like it would be pretty fun to be one of those dudes.

Surprised I have seen it in my dream. Not a player I love tbh but he could pair up well with Exum if he improves some parts of his game.

They could be great.

A comparison I haven't seen for Russell (that could be bad, I really don't know); Eric Gordon. Thoughts?

Gonna start reading this **** at 250. You guys better have figured out who we gonna draft by then.

#amidoingitrightframer?

Gordon was a bit more athletic before the knee problems than Russell. Almost a mini Westbrook. I remember him destroying Hayward so we had to put Millsap on him (didn't work, lol)

Gordon was never remotely close to Westbrook as far as athleticism goes. That's not a good comparison.

Saw earlier that Devin Booker has a short wingspan. I like Devin Booker's game a lot but his short arms makes me nervous about his potential on the defensive end. I believe length is almost a prerequisite to be a great defender. Here's a list of some of the top 3 and D guys wingspans:

Klay Thompson 6' 9"
Danny Green 6' 10"
Kyle Korver 6' 9.5"
Wes Matthews 6' 8.25"
Paul George 6' 11.25"
Kawhi Leonard 7' 3"
Andre Iguodala 6' 11"

Stanley Johnson 6' 11", D'Angelo Russell 6' 8", Justise Winslow 6' 10", and Oubre 7' 1" all make the requisite length, but Booker falls well short at 6' 6" wingspan.

I hate to reduce a player effectiveness based only on length but I think you could make a very good argument that length matters a lot on the D side of the 3 and D player.

You obviously don't remember what Eric Gordon looked like early in his career (too young?), he threw down on anyone, including one handed lobs in flight regularly.

Does not look remotely in the same league as westbrook athletically imo
