Pelicans aggressively trying to acquire a first round pick.

The rule isn't specifically that you can't trade away 2 consecutive 1st round picks. It's that you can't trade them away if they are your only first rounders. Since we would be giving them 23 this year they could give us theirs next year. (assuming that they have have a 2016 first)

    Jazz Starting To Get Healthy?

Here is what I see as minutes distribution Point JLIII 24 Burks 15 Tinsley 9 becoming Burke 24 Burks 15 JLIII 9 and Tinsley cut SG Hayward 18 Rush 20 and Burks 10 SF Hayward 18 Williams 15 and Jefferson 15 PF Favors 35 Williams 8 and Evans 5 C Kanter 35 Gobert 13 DNP Beans and Mike Harris(if...

    New Video System at ESA

I love the Video Boards. I am ambivilent about the rings, I am VERY disappointed in the stat boards, the sound is more clear but WAY TOO LOUD> I think the old hustle board was way more fan friendly and informative. 4 boards showing the box score of the 5 players on the court is meaningless to...

    Corbin has worried me today

Based on what I saw in the scrimage and the first game I like starting Jefferson. With Rush and Marvin injured starting Burks would mean Jefferson has to lead the second unit with Lucas. Jefferson can play some D, set screens and facilitate play while spreading the floor for the starters...

Open Scrimmage October 5 at 4 p.m. MT!

This is what I heard as well. Though I think Karl may have said something too. like ....pratcice has not been hard enough you say, well we shall see....

Thinking about the rotation and depth chart

Here is the way I see the rotation 96 minutes between the Center and PF positions. 30 minutes each for Kanter and Favors 12 minutes each for Gobert, Evans and Biendrins with performance and foul trouble impacting any variations. In the long run Marvin will probably get minutes at the 4 when...

    Linas Kleia Anyone?

He was near the top of the list of players I thought the Jazz may be going after to trade cap space for picks. Unfortunately Toronto chose to amnesty him rather than giving us a pick.

    Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

For what it is worth, I think I have found a bit more detail regarding whatthe second round picks are going to be. I was reading a Warriors board to see what they though of all that was going on and came across this listing of second round picks destined to various teams over the next 5 years...

Warriors, Jazz and Nuggets in sign-and-trade talks......

https://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/2013/07/08/warriors-gain-much-needed-flexibility-with-three-way-trade/ It is 3 second round picks. I hate this deal. GS was going to suck without Jack and no real option to replace him. Jazz Significantly helped GS and Denver all for a 2018 2nd rounder.

Five of the top six threads are about GS trades.

And yet here you have created another. I for one prefer the seperate threads about individual distinct issues as opposes to an all encompasing thread that is 40 pages long.

    Trey Burke/Chris Paul

PGAB. You seem to feel that many people are over stating Burkes potential and seem to be frustrated that no one is accepting your arguments. The problem is you are over stating and incessently repeating your arguments against the comparison just as much as everyone else is in favor of the...

Yes!!! Trey Burke!! Don't Mess This Up Corbin!!! What A Day

I am very ecxited about this draft. Looking back at history, the first point picked in each draft is good, the national player of the year is very good. (Jimmer excluded but he is out of position so not a good match) My one concern is his height. I came across this link showing that the...

You heard it hear first... Trade/Offseason prediction thread!

At the point I see us picking up the starter and possibly a back up at the right price but more than they paid Watson and Tinsley combined. (Calderon, Jack, Mo Williams, Collison, or Maynor) and a draft pick as the third point (CJ McCollum, Schroeder, Wolter or Carter Williams) Burks will...

Your (realistic) dream roster for the 13-14 season

This is very similar to what I was thinking. Possibly Tony Allen or Tyreke in the OJ spot. Maybe Carl Laundry in the PF spot Marvin Williams will be back because he opts in so probably no Dunleavy. If we wanted to go young we could look at Eric Maynor if the Jazz still like him.

    Jazz = Thugs?

If Jazz = thugs then Mavs = rugs because they spent the whole night floppin on the floor.

The Jazz are exactly were they were expected to be

No it is very easy for the complainers to be objectionable. However it is difficult for some to be even handed and objective. Seems to me like we make assesments about other teams and thin the Jazz are better than they are even though we see little of their team. OP is pretty right on...

Remaining Trade Exception 2.39 Million. Any Value?

With Memo's salary at 10.89 Million and Mo Williams at 8.5 million that leaves a difference of 2.39 Million available. Are there any players who would help the Jazz at that salary that we could pick up as filler in other trades?

Harpring jersey needs to be retired

Absolutely not. Horny doesn't really belong up there but at least he was the final piece in a championship contending team. As much as I liked Matt he was a role player plain and simple.

    2011 draft.....

Problem is there does not appear to be a quality SG who can shoot

Free Agent Shooting Guards Who do Jazz go after

Jazz biggest weakness is a shooting guard who can actually shoot. The draft appears to be very weak in that area as does the free agent class. Jazz will have some money but I do not see them getting Ray Allen, Michael Redd has been injured and don't know if he is worth a big risk. If the...
