Best part of this deal is that the Laker fans are crying about losing out on Bell. Saying how he doesn't want to win a ring etc etc. I guess they don't understand that 10 million>1.8 million.
I wouldn't go that far. He is guaranteed 34 million dollars over the next 5 years. Even with taxes that will leave him with what? 21 million dollars? Glad you got paid Wes, even happier it wasn't with us for that price.
Blazers will regret this deal if they can't use Wes and a package to get Paul. We are paying a proven guy over a span of many years 3 years and 10 million. They are paying a guy who could be good but likely won't get much of a chance with them 5 years and 34 million. Eat it Blazers.
Yes, eat it Blazers. I hope they aren't able to package Matthews in a deal for Paul but this to me teaches them a lesson. They are paying a ton for a backup. It might not hit them that hard considering Allen, but they figured we would match and it would hurt us down the road.

While it is not your money entirely(money you might spend buying merchandise etc) it still hampers us down the line in years to come. So the question is whether you want to pay Matthews a lot more than he is worth to us or use that money wisely and fill out our remaining needs?
Good points. AJ wasn't a solve all solution but he is a very nice addition. I think they will re-sign Fes and that will be that unfortunately. Next year they will try to lure over Tomic. We'll see though.
I voted for Barnes. I would like Brown as well. No doubt we would love to keep Matthews but at that price it isn't realistic. I would be disappointed if we opted to re-sign Matthews and let the Blazers off the hook.
