12/10: Jazz vs. Magic, 7pm MST, FSN

Jazz are playing hard and playing well.

Still, our front court is undersized and our wings are inconsistent shooters. But when we're on, we're really quite good.

Great game by DWill, AK, Big Al, Millsap, and CJ.

AK - nice to see him tear himself away from Cataclysm long enough to put up some nice numbers, especially the blocks and boards

Big Al - His D on Dwight Howard was spectacular tonight

Paul - amazing what he can do. When his jumper is hitting, he's money. Sweet fadeaway.

CJ - wish you were this money every night. We all know you are capable!

DWill - well, hell, he was DWill. 'Nuff said.

Bench - provided their usual spark. Special shout-out to Elson, who was a pesky defender, scrapped for the lose balls, and even had a couple of steals

Hayward and Evans - keep working. You're not ready, but the spark is there.

It was a nice bounce-back game, overall. Now on to Dallas. Don't let Vinyl make the game thread. ;-)

Hayward was invincible. Or invisible, I get the two confused.

I just hate how it looks like he isnt going all out when he plays. It looks like he joggs through his curl route half the time. Im still excited for him though, he shows small flashes at times.

That 3rd quarter was a thing of beauty. It should be easier to play great D in the 3rd once you've seen a team for a half, but we have to come out executing better in the 1st. And no, Hayward wasn't the reason we played poor D in the first.

In the 3rd when The Jazz tied up Howard down low on one possession Bolerjack shouted "GREAT BLANKET DEFENSE". I thought he said "GREAT BLEEPIN DEFENSE".

That would have been cool.

The game's too fast for him right now. You can't run if you don't know where to go. I still like Hayward, but he needs the D-League. Evans, on the other hand, I'll be sad to see him go. We just have to find him minutes. I really believe the kid could take Elson's minutes and it would be better. And I'm really starting to like Elson. Evans can just play.

There were a couple of stretches when the other 4 players on the floor were clearly ignoring Hayward. The kid is going to have to learn that the game is not going to come to him and he's going to have to make the most of these opportunities.

I will say Hayward was not timid on defense - he had no problem putting a body on Carter. He got schooled a couple of times; but he didn't get blown away.

Perhaps he should have guarded LeBron Wednesday night.

Al had a mediocre night on the boxscore, but he played much better than that. The defense he gave us tonight was better than Boozer's Top Ten Defensive Nights. He still makes mistakes letting Bigs get in too low, but he defends with energy and athleticism that we haven't seen in a long while. I really love the kid's head. He does whatever his job is at any given moment all the time.

Are you kidding? Almost every time the Magic went to Carter with Hayward on him he either scored or got to the foul line unless the Jazz double teamed him. Carter was allowed by Hayward to get going early and he had a good game because of it. Haywards defense was terrible and he was invisible on the other end. The only thing is the Magic were not smart enough to expose it repeatedly. They should have been going there on almost every play to start the game and they didn't except sporadically.

couldn't have done any worse than AK....
