Interesting take. So you think the indictments we just learned of effectively conclude the investigation? I don't. I think it's entirely possible that there are eventually more indictments that do involve Americans.
If this really is some sort of deal that Trump made, what do you believe he is getting out of it? It sounds like you think his main gain is relief from a fabricated investigation. And how did Trump get Republican majorities to support this anti-Republican buudget agenda that Mueller forces pushed on him?
I'm not saying that you're wrong because I can conceive of such a thing happening, particularly if Trump has no moral compass (and I don't believe that he does). I'm also reminded of a circumstance involving a close family member who was forced to make a calculated decision to accept a sanction he did not deserve in order to avoid the potential of a major public humiliation. But Trump is not like the family member I'm referring to. To me Trump is a major narcissist who loves conflict and chaos. He craves attention, both negative and positive. I have heard many of his critics claim that he is thin skinned because he responds to everything, but I think the reality is that he is thick skinned and enjoys proving it.
I do not think the Mueller investigation is over, and I fully expect Trump to remain engaged and fighting. He will continue to act as if every development is all about him because that is who he is and what he does. I think you are wrong that he's made a deal.

Unlike you I don't feel the slightest bit of surprise that Russia would attempt to influence our elections. I also would not be even a bit surprised if we were attempting to influence their elections. I feel certain that we have attempted to influence other elections. Am I wrong? For almost two years now, I have felt that the biggest story that would come out of the 2016 election was Russia's interference in our democratic institutions. I have expressed the view that, as an attack on our sovereignty as a nation, it constituted an act of war. It does not call for loading the bombs for Moscow, but it calls for a commander-in-chief who will stand up for his country. A President who understands that he serves the people, not himself. A President who will stand up to Putin, stand up to Russia. Not a President so totally devoid of human empathy, so wrapped up in himself, that he blames the most recent school shooting on students not speaking up, and on an FBI too busy investigating an attack on our democracy.
The students, our beautiful young people, are speaking up now, and putting this man in his place. More Americans should join them, not simply over the issue of "no more mass killings", but over his refusal to defend our nation and stand up and condemn the attack on our nation.
Not once, in 4 days since the Russian indictments, has Trump criticized Putin or Russia. Not once has he acted like our commander-in-chief. He refuses to implement the sanctions that all but two members of Congress voted for. He refuses to defend our country. This is dereliction of duty of the highest order.
We were attacked. It does not matter that no deaths were involved( and, in fact, if one looks at events in Russia, post-Steele Dossier publication, there are actually many "to be explained" deaths). It matters that an act that can qualify as an act of war, because it was an attack on our sovereignty as a nation, took place. Our national borders do not extend to, and encompass Moscow. Our capital is not Moscow. Our sovereignty is worth something. It does not have to include dropping bombs to be considered at the level of an act of war. It was an attack aimed at destabilizing our society, our government, our freedom to not have our heads messed with by Putin's mafia state.
What continues to amaze me is how many Americans don't seem to even care. We cared about Pearl Harbour. We cared about the World Trade Center. Taking advantage of divisions within our society, and deliberately manipulating them, with the aim being benefiting ones own strategic objectives, is a serious kick in the nuts.
At least confront that and stand up for ourselves.
It's long past time for this administration to stick up for our country. Stand up to Russia. To Putin. Just do that much. At the very least, could we at least act as if we are proud to be Americans and will defend our pride? At least in the world public arena? What are we made of if we just let Russia walk all over us? We don't have to pose a threat to them. Our President could act like our President. Act like he cares more about defending our nation then about his self.
And yes, I know Obama dropped the ball too. But he did try. He confronted Putin to his face. He asked for bipartisan support to bring the truth to Americans, and Mitch McConnell told him if he did that he, McConnell, would accuse him of trying to swing the election to Clinton. Obama at least stood up to Putin. Trump serves Putin!! Think about that. Trump refuses to even criticise an adversary who attacked our country!

"Up to now, Trump has been flouting the norms of the presidency. Now Trump’s behavior amounts to a refusal to carry out his oath of office — to protect and defend the Constitution. Here’s an imperfect but close analogy: It’s as if George W. Bush had said after 9/11: “No big deal. I am going golfing over the weekend in Florida and blogging about how it’s all the Democrats’ fault — no need to hold a National Security Council meeting.”
You're welcome.I love when someone else thinks they know my opinions better than I do.

Thanks dad.I wouldn't brag about not falling, rhetorically or ideologically, just because someone shoots me down, or tells me what it seems to them I'm saying. I can live in my own skin and take a little input. A lot of people can know better what my opinions amount to than I might think. It does take a little thinking to see what they mean, and a little guts to give their take some credit. It's what growing up amounts to.
ya got no case if you think you know it all.
