2011 draft.....

Hey I like Singler. I like Jimmer too. But not in the lottery - maybe he'll trade down.

Singler can barely take players in college off the dribble and he's not that good of a shooter....what makes you think that he'll be a good pro? Yeah he tries hard but all he has is just average skills.

I thought Singler was a force in the first half against Arizona. After he came out of the game to tend to a bleeding wound Arizona went on their rampage. His coming back in did nothing to hold back the tide as the Wildcats went wild. ...maybe not the best example.

But I'd just been judgmental since he's a ginger and I expect nothing of their race. Taken by surprise, I was colored impressed.

FYI

Portsmouth Invitational is April 6-9

The Early Entry Eligibility Deadline is April 24th, 2011.

The NBA Draft Early Entry Entrant Withdrawal Deadline June 13th at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Under NCAA rules, players will only have until May 8 to withdraw from the draft and maintain their college eligibility.

If Sully and Barnes don't declare, that just gives us a better pick next year. Unless Golden State sucks beyond belief should be picking around 8-12.

Good point. Does anyone else also get the feeling the Barnes will stay with UNC because of the looming lockout and uncertainty that comes with the NBA's next season?

Who would you rather pick in the draft?

With the first pick, i think at least one of the following will be available;

Kyle Irving, Perry Jones, Derrick Williams, Harrison Barnes, Enes Kanter, Derrick Sullinger

And with the second one my candidates are;

Brandon Knight, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmer Freddette, Alec Burks, Kemba Walker, Marcus Morris, Jan Vesely

If we cant win the lottery, impossible to get Kyle Irving, so i would say Enes kanter(he has amazing potential) and Brandon Knight
But if a miracle happens and we get irving, then Leonard would be good, he seems like he can be a very important piece in a good team

Sullinger apparently is staying in school unless he is just saying that now.

Your first one is so tough. Irving and Burks? I can't say I would be disappointed at all if it was Williams/Barnes and anyone.

damn it, i really would wish sullinger to participate in the draft, he would have been gone before us so we can have chance to getter a better player, but i would be really sad if we get a guy like terrence jones, it would ruin our pick

Williams and Barnes will probably both go Top 4. There's a fair chance that one of the lotto teams below us hop us and our pick falls to 7, so our hit list had better be 7 deep.

I could see the Jazz being interested in Terrence Jones. He can probably develop his shot, and he has a decent slashing game. Kanter might slip since no one has seen him play in a year. I could also see the Jazz rolling the dice on Jan Vesely or Perry Jones. I think the Jazz would go for a 3rd guard with their 2nd pick--Burks, Knight, Fredette or even Nolan Smith. Those are the players that should be available around the 12 pick.

i think terrence jones is rated high in college thanks to his phsycal abilities but i dont see him to have a potential like barnes but ure right, lets hope our pick shouldnt be down to 7

Anyone have an opinion on Alec Burks?

I would definitely take Burks at 12. I have only seen him play a couple of times but I was impressed with what I saw. I certainly think he could play some PG in the NBA. He is a scorer, good defender and he passes well for his size. He seems to have a good basketball IQ and seems like he is tough minded. He was sick in his last game and ended up scoring 28 pts. His shot looks good even though his outside shooting percentage are low. I think with time he will be a decent shooter. Burks is a late bloomer and according to all reports is a good kid who wants to get better.

He is my first pick at 12. I wouldn't take him at 6 but who knows the Jazz may not have a choice if guys start staying in school.

Our best chance of moving up in the draft is to get lucky in the lottery. There is no way someone is going to give us the 2nd pick for both 6th and 12th pick.
