What's new

2011 draft.....

The same highlights everyone has watched. Dude has a solid base, great upper body strength, and nice touch on his J and around the basket. He should be a good rebounder as soon as he hits the NBA. Whether he can defend at the next level is another question, but he doesn't look like a completely useless player.

Vesely, on the other hand, can run and jump...and...well...

He doesn't have the strength to guard the 4 or the quickness to guard the 3.

Garbage.

I've seen the highlights and find them totally unimpressive. Like you said, he seems a finished product, and against far inferior talent in some euro white stiffs, he seems to really have to exert himself to grab the boards. What's going to happen when he faces worldy athletes in the NBA? In some respects, he does remind me of Love, like you said. But the collegiate Love. And one difference, in my opinion, is that Love can actually jump a little. More importantly, he came from NBA genes, knew how hard he had to work to become somebody in this league and did that in spades. He worked his *** off to lose weight and lower his body fat. He worked on his shooting big time. And so on. And dude still sucks on d. I see Kanter being a poor man's Love at best. And with the #6 pick, there's no way i can live with that. With the #12 pick, sure. But to get a guy who has no upside and appears to have no starter potential (in my opinion) is a complete waste of a pick. These are just my own thoughts based on his highlights of course.

Irving
Barnes
DWill2
Brandon Knight

Gotta pray the Jazz can land one of these guys with their first pick.

Also, Jonas Valanciunas looks like a far better prospect than either of the other Euros projected to go in the lottery. Great hands, great size, HUGE upside (which is what sets him apart from Kanter, who looks like a finished product).

Nolan Smith > Brandon Knight.....I'm just not a big fan of Knight to be honest, I think he'll be average, but nothing special. I wouldn't spend a lottery pick on him.

Oh geez. I LOVE Nolan Smith but he's a steady leader with solid skills, nothing more. He's not worth a lottery pick.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keith Van Horn????????????????????????????????????????????

Seriously????

Keith couldn't even hold Jimmer's jock.

Little Brother is so jealous it's hilarious! First they flood BYU game threads. Then they declare that Jimmer will be a bust (but of course, Alex Smith still has a future lol). Now they claim that KVH was better than Jimmer?

My hell....

First things first: your posts are degenerating lately, you are becoming a stereotype of yourself. Calm the **** down. I'm sorry the jazz are losing lately, and that you never get laid. We're all sorry.

Second: I really don't understand the hole "little brother" thing. I grew up in Utah, was raised a Ute fan, but had never heard the this particular phrase until it came up on this site. Care to explain? It doesn't have any historical accuracy that I can think of.

Third: there is, in fact, a strong argument that can be made that Keith Van Horn had a better college career than Jimmer. And, as far as "hold the jock" is concerned, I'm pretty sure that Jimmer hasn't played a single pro game yet, so shut the **** up.

Next will you guys be claiming that UFOs landed in Rice-Eccles today proclaiming that they were really behind the 08 recession and that the whole fate of NCAA Football rests on the shoulders of the Utes?

I don't know what's more entertaining.... Watching March Madness? Or watching Ute fans find ways to bash Jimmer? LOL hilarious hilarious hilarious. Not even Jimmy Fallon could out write some of you!

This just sums up your pathetic ***, doesn't it? Your fury is juvenile.

A stereotype of yourself? Do you mean parody?

When we're talking about the basketball at the professional level, then Walker > Jimmer. I won't debate this with you because God knows it to be true.

^^This. Kemba has so much more potential than Jimmer. He is younger, more athletic, really quick, actually plays some D, rebounds the ball very well for a PG. They both can create their own shots, Jimmer is a better shooter but when Jimmer can't shoot his game is limited. It will be an interesting debate going forward but I think Kemba will be a better pro

You are saying like this draft is full of Lebrons

I really like Chandler Parsons from Florida after seeing him play BYU in the tourney. Parsons is a really long tall shooter at 6'10" and can hit the 3. Playing Parsons along with Hayward would be a great duo at the wings and make us really long at those positions and plus now seeing Hayward improve hit shot, we could have some deadly shooters. The Jazz could probablly trade back to get Chandler Parsons between picks 15 to 22.

Nowhere in that quote did you hear me say that Nolan Smith is a lottery pick. He's not, I've said that earlier in this thread. But I do like him more than Brandon Knight.

What the Jazz need is a smart unselfish point guard, and Nolan Smith might be that...being a Senior and deferring his natural position to a Freshman.

I really like that point guard out of Saint Mary's Mickey McConnell, average 6 assists this season with a prior season average of 5. Mickey shoots 88% this season from the free throw line and 45.6% from 3, averaging 2.3 made 3's of 5 attempts. So this kid can shoot because 6 assists is high in college ball. Plus Mickey is from Mesa, AZ so he would be more prone to stay in Utah and also we could probablly sneak him out of the 2nd round or late 1st if we really like him, I see alot of a former Jazz point guard in him almost the same size but a better pure shooter. (Not to forget he come from the same NCAA Conference John Stockton played in...hmmm) ;)

Wait, so Kanter is a finished product based on the highlights you seen of him at 17 years old? Are euro years like dog years? Is it he's really 34...?
