What's new

2011 draft.....

DWill2 and AZ have Duke's backs against the wall. Unfortunately this is going to make DWill2 even more desirable to teams.

Some big performances tonight. A lot of guys helped their draft position - which I hope makes someone I like slide to the Jazz.

Kemba had a big night and is still in the tourney so people can get sweeter on him and burn a top 10 pick on him. I would love to see Uconn win it all to drive Kemba top 5, sliding someone else to the Jazz.

Kyrie is out of the tourney. He'll still probably remain the number 1 pick anyway so this doesn't hurt his stock, but Derrick Williams --- WOW. His stock went thru the roof tonight. This solidifies him at maybe #2 and slides Barnes (hopefully). Hey, I'd be happy with either Dwill2 or Barnes but I'm still leaning towards Barnes - given the Jazz' jam at PF.

I hope Sullinger is a beast tomorrow so he remains a top 5 pick. I don't want him sliding to the Jazz.
I also need Barnes to have a quiet night tomorrow, and an exit from the tourney. His stock will go down.

Fredette: Now there's no danger of him being snatched up before the 12th pick, if the Jazz still want him. In spite of his difficult night I haven't soured on him at 12, and I feel much more comfortable he'll be there than if he were to make it further in the tournament.

Guys I was really impressed with:
Uconn's Lamb. Guy's a stud. And long.
Kyle Singler. So much fight - I loved watching him play tonight. I also loved seeing Duke lose.

Wow

Count me in for a DW believer! Get me that man!

Wouldn't it be something if we ended up with 2 top 5 picks? Is that even possible?

You need to stop with this NC out of the tournament nonsense. Granted, if the Noles win it will not be so bad. Perry Jones anyone? If Barnes and Sullinger play well them two and DWill and Iriving will probably be top 4.

Kyring Irving looks like he can get anywhere he wants to be on the court and has a descent jumper. On the down side, he looks short, doesn't look explosive, and didn't look fast. I wonder if his emergence will hurt Nolan Smith's draft status?

How many times did you have to play it to do that? The odds of this are not even one in two-thousand!

Irving listed at 6'2" two inches taller than Paul. Also guy has not played in months. Probably does not have all his speed back. Smith really never seen as a top 20 guy. AZ game certainly did not help that.

watched Jimmer in game action for the first time, and immediately thought it is ridiculous to even think that he would become the next Steve Nash. he can make plays and decent passes when driving in, but he can't throw the right pass in pick and roll situations... wouldn't mind him to be a scorer off the bench, but do NOT pick him before Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight.

Well, one reason he takes it to the hoop is that his 3pt numbers are pretty bad. Have not seen him play a lot. Perhaps comparable to Demar Derozan?

I am not too worried about his 3 pt shooting unless he has poor mechanics. If he has good mechanics and a drive to get better then I think 3 pt shooting can be improved. There is always an adjustment to the NBA 3 pt line. Both Magic and MJ were not great 3pt shooters coming out of college but improved this aspect of their games when they went pro. I don't think he has the hops of Derozan or size but Burks impressed me with his ability to create offensive for himself and his teammates. I haven't seen a lot of him but I was impressed especially since he was playing sick.

The Jazz will be in the lottery for another decade if the best thing they can get this offseason is Kyring.

We need scorers from the SF/SG position, like NOW!!!
