2011 draft.....

Hell yeah I would take him over Kemba Walker. Are you kidding me? Shooting translates. The basket is always 10' tall and the ball always weighs the same. Not to mention the kid didnt have to play defense in college, he won by scoring nearly as much as the other teams. 51 points in 40 total minutes is impressive.

Let the rude awakening of the NBA hit him in the face, so he can learn. When these coachs and the media get on him he will start to care about defense.

He could be a superstar or he could be a solid back up point gaurd with huge big shot abilitys. What do you expect out of your 8 -14th pick in a weak draft?

He didn't play defense because he isn't a good defender. I am not saying don't draft him. I am saying you take the BPA at your picks and go from there. He probably isn't the BPA at 12.

Defense is 50% of the game. If you can't stay in front of your man or ever grab a steal, you had better be both an elite shooter and playmaker like Steve Nash. We know Jimmer is an elite shooter, but does he even have half the passing ability of Nash? KOC will be the judge of that.

I wouldn't complain if we took him at 12 but it would depend on who we take at 6 or 7. Since there are no shooters at 6 then I say we take him. I wouldn't complain with burks and Jimmer. They compliment each other. I would prefer one of the jones first though.

1. Kyrie Irving, Duke: 17.4 ppg, 5.1 apg, 3.8 rpg, 1.5 stl
2.Kemba Walker, Connecticut: 29.1 ppg, 4.3 apg, 5.6 rpg, 2.1 stl
3.Demetri McCamey, Illinios: 14.8 ppg, 7.7 apg, 3.4 rgp, 1.0 stl
....

10. Jimmer Fredette, BYU: 28.9 ppg, 4.3 apg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 stl (+ He may stay more than 5 years here too!)

your a troll

Ok Ill bite. I sited the article because it offered an opinion on the top point guards this year. It also gave you their season stats and a quick synopsis of their personality and scout opinions. It also showed how despite equal numbers Jimmer was not in the Top 5 of this years pg crop (In the NBA scout view).

The article was written then because that's when they were more focused on personal players. They are now writing about the teams in the final four. That is why the article is from December.

I posted it because I think Jimmer is a great fit for the SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH Jazz. He's Mormon, he wants to come to Salt Lake. Who wants to come to salt lake? If we can get him from anywhere at 8-15 I would be happy.

I stand corrected. Jimmer is mormon, he wants to be here, and nobody else does. And yeah, the article was written in December because it was December which is definitely not now.

This goes out to Jimmer homers;

Why is anyone to presume that a guy that's never really even tried to play D in his life (besides not having defensive tools or fundamentals at all) will just up and become a defender at 22+? Is there some sort of (contemporary) example of something like this happening?

ownage to you my friend. I hate this stupid talk about drafting players who want to live in slc. If that were the gms thinking , they might as well pack up. Couldmyou imagine a team of jimmers, aks, and okurs? My god.

Walker is a pretty good shooter, he has a nasty midrange. He can also get himself free for a shot, not something Im entirely positive Jimmer will be able to do at the next level.

so.... i might be redundant here, havent had time to flip through the hundreds of posts, but.... is barnes really gonna stay at unc another year?

https://www.dailytarheel.com/index.php/article/2011/03/uncs_harrison_barnes_taken_off_nba_mock_draft

A lot of people think he is going back to UNC. Same thing with Sullinger going back to Ohio State. That really weakens this draft a lot more. We'll see if they do indeed end up going back to school, but I think it is looking likely both will.

If you are projected to go top 5 in the draft you have to go pro right? Too much to risk by staying in college imo.

Obviously this is purely hypothetical, but if the rules were the same as when Red Auerbach drafted Bird, would we do the same thing with Barnes? Basically if Barnes went back to UNC for another year, but we could draft his rights this year, would you do it?
