2011 draft.....

Hi. What does everyone think about Jimmer? I think he would make the Jazz better and they should take him at #5.

The Jazz would shoot much better with Jimmer on the floor.

I say no to jimmer and you can read all 123 pages of this thread and find enough on this topic to last you a whole skipped day of school.

Anybody speak a spanish? Can read bits and pieces. Most interesting thing if he has a buyout. 12 would probably be to soon for him anyway, but he is 6'10"-6'11" and can shoot it from the 3. We dont have that type of player unless you count the hobbled Okur.

The Real Madrid pact with Mirotic extend the contract until 2017

He does not want you escape your cultured pearl. Nikola Mirotic (power forward, 20 years old, 2.09 m) had a contract until 2013, but Real Madrid has reached an agreement with him for extended three years until 2016, plus one optional part of the club, which allows you to tie up to 2017. A story that will be official soon and is able to advance TUBASKET.com after Real Madrid confirmed sources. Nikola arrived in Madrid for 5 years, from his native Podgorica, capital of Montenegro. Dazzle at the junior level and last season with only 18, he is transferred to the Adecco Palencia Gold, just released his Spanish nationality. There does not star numbers but mature enough to face this season with the first white team in the ACB. Until November it plays almost anything. Messina hand him a check a bad game at Charleroi and to this day: fifth leading scorer in the ACB and Euroleague; crucial baskets to return to Real Madrid to the F4. Mirotic NBA will have a clause in case he decides to try before the end of his contract, although the idea of Madrid is to stay until at least 2016.

Sounds like Smack might be 16 or 17, wouldn't it be great if he was?

"Many NBA scouts and executives believe Bismack Biyombo is older than his listed age of 18.

Coaches who have worked with Biyombo earlier in his career while he was still in Congo think he's “no older than 20 at most,” while Biyombo's agent, Igor Crespo, has evidence that proves Biyombo is even younger.

Crespo claims he took Biyombo to a specialist to conduct a bone age study immediately upon his arrival in Spain. The study involves taking x-rays of an adolescent's wrist and hand to see if his growth plates are still open. Because the cartilage in Biyombo's hand hadn't fused at that point, the specialist came to the conclusion that he could be 16 or 17 at most, but not 18, when growth plates are expected to be closed.

This obviously rules out the possibility of Biyombo being five to eight years older than he's listed, as the wild speculation we've seen recently on the Internet indicates. Crespo says he will willingly share these x-rays with any NBA team that requests them."

Klay Thompson = Morris Almond

Dont know about this, he has far greater skill set the almond could ever of dreamed of. With all the pullouts, i think he may be in play at 12. He was considered a top 10 pick at one point and had a bad second half which he finished with a 43 point outburst in tourna, ent play. I see kmart here. Kmart went late and was undervalued, i think klay is undervalued this year.

I think Sacramento might draft Knight. I've been reading from one draft site how Evans would move to the two in such a case. Though Thornton played pretty well toward the end of the year (at SG), so I'm hoping they draft somebody else. This draft is weak for the first few picks when compared to other drafts, but isn't as bad for the later picks - less dropoff by comparison. KOC will probably fall in love with at least one player who isn't on the radar - I hope he doesn't overextend the pick too much.

I really do like Klay Thompson, and after looking at him more since you mentioned him, I think he will go higher than I thought he would. But, I mean, 12 still just seems early to me.

Klay is a great scorer, great shooting touch, smart offensive player....but where does he fit into our team? IMO, he's a 2-guard. Hayward is our 2-guard. Klay is maybe tall enough enough to play 3, but he weights 190 lbs. He would get abused on the defensive end based on size alone, and he's already not a very good defender. He is young though (21 I think?), so he does have the potential to grow more and maybe we could even have Hayward guard the 3 position on defense, I dunno. Anyways, I think at 12 it's gonna be somebody like Thompson, Jordan Hamilton, Jimmer....somebody who can shoot. And personally, I would be more comfortable with Jordan Hamilton even though I wouldn't complain about Klay Thompson too much.

Klay Thompson = Morris Almond

Eh...I can kind of see the comparison, but Thompson is more well rounded IMO. Better rebounder, better passer, smarter player. Probably doesn't have as good of a shot as Almond, but hell, not many people do. To be honest, I'm still a little surprised Almond isn't in the NBA....but I guess I neglected his poor attitude and refusal to play defense and pass the ball. Anyways, Thompson IMO is more proven coming out of college because he was the focal point of his team (So was Almond obviously) but the difference is Thompson plays in the Pac-10 and Almond played at Rice. Thompson is also younger coming out of college and has loads more potential. I think the Kevin Martin comparison is a little better, but I think Thompson will pass more than Martin does.

I actually see them going more Walker. Take a small, quick guard who can light it up and play off the ball.

Hmm I saw the opposite. Knight has a developed perimeter game. It opens up the floor for Evans. Walker would be driving into the same lanes and space that Cousins and Evans like to occupy.

I'll be happy if we draft Knight. If he's gone by six, it will be interesting to see what happens. Granted, players will rise and fall on the boads during the next few months, so who knows?

That did not translate well, but I'm sure the buyout if fairly reasonable, there may not be one at all past 2013.
