2011 draft.....

This draft is the very definition of closing time. The hot chicks will be taken early and everyone else will be trying to justify that the fat chick in the corner is better than the one at the bar who has a hair growing from her mole. This is truly the worst draft I have ever seen in the 30 or so years I have paid attention. Guys who would normally be fringe first rounders are now possible lottery picks. Guys who have no business being drafted at all are first rounders. I'm sure glad the Jazz didn't make the playoffs because keeping the second pick sure looks good right now.

Question about Klay Thompson.... I've never seen him play all I've ever seen are YouTube highlights, and I don't like to form an opinion off of them. Is he as good a shooter as the highlights show or are they just highlights? If he is that good a shooter I think the Jazz could do much worse with the 12th pick.

Your thoughts.

PS.... Underkanter we get it you love Kanter and want the Jazz to draft him. If I were to look at all your posts would they all be about Kanter??????

not all, but many... seriously, a frontcourt of kanter and favors (both are born in 92 and 91) could be the best within 2-3 years and they're still very young.

Pretty sure Chad Ford reported the kid just blistered the nets at a Tacoma YMCA the other day. Missed one shot when he saw his own shadow. A janitor on hand said it was the most impressive shooting performance he'd ever seen.

Names I would be delighted to hear Stern call out (this is for both #6 or #12 - I'm not going to differentiate):
Irving
Williams
Kanter
Knight
Leonard
Donatas

Names I could easily talk myself into getting psyched about:
Vesely
Biyombo
Marcus Morris
Jimmer
Burks
Thompson
Singleton

Names I would need someone else to convince me that KOC made a good decision:
Kemba - although I do think he'll be good, just not sure how he fits on our team
Reggie Jackson
J. Hamilton
Honeycutt
Tobias Harris

Names I would cringe at:
Valanciunas - it's pretty sad that I can now spell that correctly without having to double check it
Tristan Thompson
Markieff Morris

Gottlieb, one of ESPN's NCAA gurus has Tristan Thompson like 3rd on his player board. Did not see him enough to make an educated assessment, but at the 12th pick we could probably do worse but only if we are willing to trade Millsap.

Gottlieb thinks the Big 12 could survive as a Division in the NBA. He thinks Thompson is a 5, but he's only 6'9". Gottlieb's a 'tard.

yeah, that is the one thing that made me say huh. i have even seen 6'8" as well. That is why I said trading Millsap would have to be in the cards.

I only saw Texas play one game last year. I wanted to see them run the Jazz Flex Offense and see that Hamilton kid. Based on that one game I really like Thompson, I don't like Hamilton. Thompson will tear it up in summer league (if they ever have one) and will play well with an NBA team's second unit. But, Hantlers is right, he really doesn't fit into a Jazz rotation that includes Jefferson, Milsap, Favors, & Okur.

I'm pretty sure this is the record since the death of the previous version of JazzFanz.

No doubt. There's also fewer posts per page now I believe as I think there used to be 25 per before the site crashed. I guess the more appropriate question would be "What's the record for most posts in a thread?" How anyone would ever know that I haven't a clue.

you can modify how may posts are on a page in your settings. I think the default is set at 20 right now. Other than that I have no answers for you.

Just sort by "Replies" in each individual forum. The biggest in GD is the rep thread at 1187. Next highest in the Jazz forum is the CJ thread at 746.

Wonder what your thoughts would be on this. Corbin is looking at playing a 2 guard offense. Hayward has already shown the ability to drive and dish like a point guard, and can hit the three. Knight is said to be a combo guard that would be great playing point guard, and then also being able to score coming off the curl. He also can hit the three. Looks like they could be a pretty lethal playing together. Keeping my fingers crossed for Knight.

Knight will be a good player in this league. Mark it down.

I want a few players before him, but would be happy if end up with his talent at 6.
