2011 draft.....

i'd rather get kanter and would resign kirilenko. then we could trade millsap / harris for two starting caliber guards. draft a wing as the 12th pick.

Yeah, your name is already a complete joke. I'm guessing you will stop posting here if we don't him though.

InsideJazzMan sent me this picture of the Jazz Darft Night hat.

Will this fit on Kanter's giant head???

I don't think it's too likely that the Wolves will come away with Derrick Williams in the draft. I think it's less than 50-50.

I could picture:
1) the Wolves fall in love with Kanter at #2 and draft him as their starting center
2) the Cavs fall in love with Williams or Kanter and convince the Wolves to draft for them at #2 while the Cavs give the Wolves their #4 pick (Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker) and other considerations
3) Another lotto team, including possibly the Jazz, convinces the Wolves to make a similar deal to switch picks
4) A whole host of players get offered to the Wolves for #2 and the Wolves consider trading out of the draft or at least out of the lotto. Players offered could include: Jeff Green, James Harden, Tyreke Evans, Tony Parker, Lamar Odom, Jamal Crawford, almost the entire roster of the Suns, Magic, Nuggets, Nets, etc.

This is definitely going to take some time to shake out.

No way Cavs trade up too Wolves spot unless they offer them something like ability to switch future 1st round picks. The only person I think Minnesota might want from the Cavs is Varejao.

I think we have a shot at Derrick Williams or Kyrie Irving. I think Minnesota won't take Williams, due to already having that position filled. I think Kanter will shock some people in workouts and Minny will take him at #2, unless they trade their pick. If Irving goes to Cleveland, Williams could fall to us.

If I were Cleveland, though, I don't know if I would take Irving. As stated, there are a bunch of PG's in this draft. If I were them, I would take DWilliams 1, then take Brandon Knight at 4. This could net the Jazz Irving, as I doubt Minnesota would take another PG. Unless Kahn wants to admit he was wrong about Rubio and just give up.

Seriously, this lineup looks pretty awesome though if we could get Williams at 3 and Jimmer at 12 (or a SG)

PG: Harris/Jimmer
SG: Hayward/crap we still have Bell
SF: Derrick Williams/Miles
PF: Favors/Millsap
C: Jefferson/Memo

On another note, Gary Flowers looks like one of the Wayans brothers. I can't take him seriously. We don't have a 2nd round pick though, so I guess it's a non-issue.

Assuming Minne takes Williams...

Kanter wants to play for Washington apparently by watching the tweets.

Trade the 3rd pick for the 6th and the 18th?

I think you still could get knight at 6, draft singleton or a foreign at 12 and appease the Jimmer fans by taking him at 18 (a more realistic spot for him).

Singleton is Corey Brewer. You can't take a guy with no offensive ability at 12 no matter how good a defender he is.

Yeah, i am a FSU alum and I think we can probably do better even in a weak draft. He was a nonfactor for FSU in the tournament, but to be fair he had just come back from an injury.

That is my worse fear. Singleton does appear to have more of a spot up game than Brewer does though. He appears to have the talent and skills, but does he have the "it" factor to produce consistently.

The guy can't score. Plain and simple. He's not going to translate to the pros. His ceiling is way too low to spend the 12th pick on.

Unless he vehemently stated that he did not want to play in Utah, then I would have no reservations taking him at 3. The only reason he has to be thinking those places is that he sees immediate playing time there. I mean who would honestly want to live in Minnesota or Cleveland?

I'll be honest I don't much about singleton, I just threw his name out there for conversation. If not him, we take BPA at 12, whoever that is. I like Kanter a lot, but I think a combo of Knight + Jimmer(or whoever else at 18th) > Kanter.

Knight + Jimmer = no sense, Kanter + Jimmer = sense
