2011 draft.....

UnderKANTER - Love your zest for the Enes, I too am a fan of The Bull from Istanbul, but I think I speak for everyone involved when I say this is a Jazz board, and that your hard-on for Kanter is both annoying and akward.

Now hearing Jazz will spend all day with Enes Kanter on June 2nd in Chicago. Will see him workout + interview. He's not dodging Jazz - Chad Ford

Breath easy Kanter supporters.

Waiting for him to weasel out of it. There's still word coming from his camp that he doesn't want to play for the Jazz. But we'll see. It's hard for me to trust someone that - at this level - can't keep a schedule or re-schedule an interview if they're too busy to meet their initial appointment. Hell, maybe that's what happened. I don't know.

Whatever the case, I don't get a good vibe about Kanter.

I don't want Kanter, but I wish for him to raise his stock to the #2 pick. I'm hoping the cockiness and arrogance Williams has displayed in his interviews will push teams away from trading up to the Wolves spot to get him, and thus falling to us,

What has he said that is "cocky" or "arrogant"? That he's the most NBA-ready (he is)? That he amazes himself sometimes (as much an argument for his humility as his arrogance, depending on how you look at it)?

I don't mind if, but the interviews I have seen he has displayed those traits to me. Again, I actually like it out of a guy like Williams who seems to backup his statements. Examples from what I mean : He thinks he can replace Lebron (cockiness) and he has no doubt in his mind he can play the 3 and that he is no way shape or form a 4 (arrogance).

I haven't heard anything about this "replacing" Lebron garbage, but all of those read as confidence. Not arrogance. I loved his interview. Apparently you liked it too or something.

I think Kanter could average 18 and 10 with starter's minutes, at least by his 2nd year. The issue is that he'll be playing behind Jefferson and Favors, so he won't get those minutes.
Having a 3-man 4/5 rotation is not a bad thing. If we can't get Williams or Irving, Kanter is probably the 3rd best asset in the draft. He's as big as Tim Duncan.

Does Alec Burks sound like the black version of the guy who mumbles really fast on King of The Hill?

I think Kanter's worst-case scenario is a Rony Seikaly-like career. He's likely to be better given his size and shooting stroke. I think Kanter is going to shoot a lot of free throws in his career.

Not in the NBA draft. Kanter is this year's Demarcus Cousins, though unfortunately not as fluid.

Kanter's measurements are good, but Cousins blow his out of the water (7' 5.75" wingspan, 9' 5" standing reach, 4" difference in both in favor of Cousins). There isn't a Cousins of this year's draft. If Kanter and Biyombo had a baby, maybe.

I understand that relative to the field you could argue Kanter has the best measurements for a high-profile big, but in the scheme of things, they are ample. Not elite. Cousins is elite. That's why people were freaking out last year.

Cousins can't jump at all though. Enes is at least an average leaper as we saw by his almost FT line dunk.

Jumping is less important than physical size for someone who you want playing down low. And part of the reason Cousins can't jump is because he is a fatty. If he could get his body fat below 10% he would have a lot more mobility.

Cousins is overweight though (14% body fat), can't run the floor for more than several minutes at a time, can't jump much and has limited lateral movement. Cousins has great measurements, fluidity and touch--Kanter is more stiff--but I think Kanter can also have 20-20 games from time to time.

The only concern would be if Kanter is somehow the Greg Oden of this draft.
